First off i want to say that im sorry if there is a thread asking about this already but my search didnt give me any hits and manually searching for 4h didnt give me anything either.

My question is simple but I cant find anything about it.

How do you use the Orbital Lander to go to other planets?

Or if thats not the unit you do it with then what unit and how to use that?

    I thank you in advance.

    Best Regards Zelf

Select lander, rightlick on the unit you want to transport (commander, an engineer). Zoom out all the way with . or , or some other key I can't remember.

Right click on the new planet.

    Wait 15 minutes or so...

Go to the new planet, select the lander and use the unload command on the righthand menu.

Look back on the planet you came from and lost since you wasted so much metal on that lander... :p

Okay well the orbital lander should start of with a missile shooting into the air then crashing, this missle depolys the lander, you then left click the commander then right click the unit you want it to store, then you click right on the location (another planet surface) where you want it to go. Hope this helps :)

    1) Build an Astraeus from the Orbital Launcher
    2) With that unit selected, right click on the unit you want to transport (They can also go between planets without carrying units)
    3) Zoom in on the planet you want to travel to, and right click to issue the move command
    4) Wait (can be 5+ minutes depending on the orbits)
    5) Enjoy your comfy new planet.

All these features are buggy, and you may have to try multiple times to get them to work. When they do work, they're freaking awesome.

    Have fun!

    Step for step guide:

    How to get the lander:
    1. Build a fabricator (Air/land or bot).
    2. Build a advanced factory with the fabricator.
    3. Build a advanced fabricator with the advanced factory.
    4. Build a orbital factory with the advanced fabricator.
    5. Build the Astraeus unit from the orbital factory (Orbital Lander).

    How to use it:
    6. Tell the Astraeus to pick up a unit (commander or engineer perhaps) by right clicking a unit while the lander is selected.
    7. With the Astraeus selected zoom out to system view, zoom in to a targeted world, tell the unit to move there.
    8. Wait (It seems like it has to circle the sun once for some reason).
    9. Press the Astraeus and press the unload button, then left click on the surface to select a unload spot.

    Transfer complete.

It seems that sometimes the landers dont always work, cant get them to land on a planet that has a near orbit with the sun.... right now i got 2 landers stuck and cant move them as their still trying to land on the planet i told them to, cant re-order them back either lol... just a constant orbit

What does the SMove option do? (On the command list for the Astraeus launcher)

^ I believe it toggles between high-orbit and load altitudes (so basically moving from orbit layer to air layer).

How do you get the stupid landers to UNLOAD.
I am sooooooo tired of getting to a new planet, and mashing the keyboard to absolutely no affect for 2 minutes after which the planetary defence fighters kill the commander and the game

After selecting the Astraeus (must have a unit actually loaded into it first), select the "UNLOAD" button from the command bar at the right side of the screen, then left click where you want to drop the unit. Also, FYI....you can also transport air units this way as well.

Alternatively, you can bind a key to the UNLOAD command in the keyboard unit settings. By default, nothing is bound to it, which is why button mashing didn't do anything for you.

    Hope that helps.

Is this how it used to be in the game? Much simpler now, basic fabber builds the orbital launcher building, that makes the Astreus.
