Admittedly its hard to imagine the same strategy in PA. Probably have to use asteroids instead of a map corner or something. All I'm saying though is that the games I got the most satisfaction out of are the ones where I came back from nothing and a game where map control is everything doesn't allow for that to happen.

Just the other day I played a 4v4 of FA like that. Yellow was the last player on team 1 but had all his former ally's bases gifted to him (3.5 hour game). He won the coastal regions with navy and pushed me and my 2 remaining allies into the mountains. As my allies and I began to see the writing on the walls I evacuated about 6 sub commanders with resource allocation into the top left of the map (my commander was already dead). Eventually my allies joined me and thanks to my stealth fields the enemy didn't see that base until the mavor was 70% done and surrounded by hundreds of defenses. My friends called that base "Helms deep" lol. If that mavor had finished yellow's unlimited resource generator would be toast. The only way yellow was able to defeat helms deep in time was to "dump a disc (czar wreckage) on it" has my friend would say. Close game... even though 3 of the players were crammed into a single 0.5 km corner of the map. I lost, but that loss was more epic than many of the wins I get. So much fun!

Remember that PA plays itself on actual planets, Spheres, this means there are no Map Edges, this drastically changes how a game is played, and you can attack / be attacked from every direction.
    Including Space!

Yeah just like I said, it's going to look different in PA, but the same type of game play should remain. If map control is everything then it won't. Things that enable power to extend beyond map control are Metal Makers, Sub Commanders (with resource allocation) and that unlimited resource generator Aeon got. Basically you need to be able to gather mass from other (albeit less efficient) sources to enable that alternate play style.

I'm explaining past games. Of course both you and knight have a point.

The deadly killer tanking up eco while everyone else is fighting to the death.
Answer: smack an asteroid at them. Lol.

It's never to early to discuss concepts. Uber felt confident enough in their implementation to push it into a beta release so we have the right to discuss it as the candidate it is

In the past a combination of the following has worked:
-Make more nukes than they have anti nuke launchers
    -T2 bomber attack
    -T2 vehicle attack
    -Orbital

Have you thought about the concept of a shrinking battlefield(s)?
If the enemy controls one planet, you destroy that planet and then the fighting continuous on for the whats left of it.
Putting all the economy on 1 planet might not be a good option if the enemy can just destroy the whole planet.
So rather it's about getting into a position where you can deny the enemy of territory rather than straight winning from controlling territory.

Was it really necessary to dig up a 5 month old thread just to make that comment?

Build a ring of holkins around the enemy base, and keep your own base spread out enough so even if they nuke you, they won't be able to do enough damage to counter a nuke.

Also remember that anti-nukes are cheaper than nukes, and you don't have to cover the entire base, the enemy nuke just has to pass through it's radius.
