I followed the instructions Install instructions: 1. Extract the zip and place the folder into your /PA/ folder. 2. Merge the folders and overwrite any files.
I can only imagine that maybe one of the mods edits prelight_normal but I doubt it. You can try reinstalling but I have no idea why it won't work for some people.
I have the same issue, no other mods except green mex (which I've now changed to blue mex as it's a bit more visible in forests).
Can you guys do that: Attach your DxDiag, so we'll see if there correlation with hardware. Check PA logs in this directory: C:\Users\ YOUR_WINDOWS_USER \AppData\Local\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\log\ And check if there some errors related to prelight_normal.fs I'm think this can be shader compilation fault or just related to hardware (and drivers) you have. I'm have same problem with my modded sun shader, it's sometimes going black with no (at least no simple) reason.
Nothing about prelight_normal.fs in the logs. I've uploaded my dxdiag output file. HTH! [edit] FWIW. it looks a lot better if prelight_normal.fs is uncommented if you're having the problem of black shapes above the green mex.
It seems that the mex mod no longer works in v54382, some weird *.papa files are now used in place of the previous *.png ones.
They may have finally started to use model files instead of pngs =/ time to ditch green metal in favour of the built in system? (its pretty good anyways)
