I have an Acer Iconia W700 it supports 10 point touch in Metro Mode not sure about the desktop. I have a mouse and keyboard but decided to test the screen for playability. Here's how it worked for me 1 finger press selects troop like left click, 1 finger Press and hold = move or Right click. 2 finger pinch worked like scroll wheel and zoomed nicely. I cant tilt or pan tho, if implementing touch input into game is crap idea maybe or too awkward maybe some virtual scroll bars on bottom left/right corner of screen, for keyboard less and middle mouse buttonless scrolling. And a Troop grouping and commanding groups bar and quick select of groups would be awesome for keyboard less touchplay.
I salute you for attempting to play an RTS without physical keys. You're a more patient person then I am.
If i set press and hold speed to fast so right click happens in under 1 second, gaming with the touchscreen is viable, just awkward without extra shortcuts. like assign to group or any other keyboard feature that improves playability.
