Is this when the game loads to say im guessing is the main menu with no graphics ??, i hear audio but see nothing but the child windows border that holds the game and a black empty void Most probably sucks to be me having an Acer Iconia W700 with an Intel HD4000 GPU clocking in @ 750mhz. Posting with DxDiag.txt for my system specs to see if this may assist in any way. In theory this game should run ok on my system as i have just bashed the crap outta 700 odd zombies in Dead Island Riptide @ 1280x720 res all settings on meduim/high and at a good ol 35 fps constant even with 8-10 zombies onscreen coming to maul me no glitches or hitches or any complaints from my system.
Ok my Cpu is a 1.7 ghz Dual Core with HyperThreading/Turbo Boost/QuadCore Virtualization (2 real core 4 logical processors/threads), actual Cpu clock is 2.6 ghz as a single core in turbo boost mode, 2.4 ghz in dual core turbo boosted mode. And lastly runs @ 1.7ghz for long term high end Cpu loads. GPU runs at 350 mhz ide , 1000 mhz in turbo boosted mode (seems to be linked to the processor as its an all in one thingo) and runs at 750 mhz on long high demand loads. Everything else of importance should be in the DxDiag.txt i posted here for you
*sighs* ACER dont support updated drivers.. :'( if i install the newest hd4000 drivers my system becomes unstable and refuses to wake from sleep.
I will try some generic HD4000 drivers more recemt than the ones acer release for this tablet/laptop hybrid. Unfortunately we all know that laptops and stuff usually get last priority from manufacturers for video driver updates, and most drivers are customized and butchered to suit each darn system making using generic drivers an issue sometimes.
It's quest strange, did you tried to ask for help from Intel support? They're answer on every thread posted here, might be they can help you with that problem. As long as I know laptop manufacturers are never modify Intel HD drivers because these graphics cards are built into CPU and there is no any manufacturer-specifics. I sure there was lot of people with outdated Intel drivers on laptops and none of them have problems with generic drivers. Also you have non-standard DPI settings: Code: User DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent) System DPI Setting: 120 DPI (125 percent) This is cause issues with mouse for some users. Bugreport: FS#1119 If you met any problems with cursor change your DPI settings to default 100%: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/...ler#make-screen-text-larger-smaller=windows-8
My apologies im a wondows 8 noob too, how do i change the systems DPI, i can change the user DPI and that link you posted above to the "windows 8 how to change DPI" only shows changing of the user DPI. By default the DPI on this 11.6" 1980x1080 res tablet is 125% system dpi and 100% user dpi default scaling, im not sure why maybe its to make the ultra fine and almost impossible to touch with the finger stuff big enough to interact with onscreen. im using system that's identical to the new surface pro if that helps, maybe a link if anyone there is a surface user to a intel hd4000 driver for that device will help with my device. Intels site shows me a newer driver but also states that it may not be compatible with my device and to consult my manufacturer's page. also many apologies for my typo's onscreen keyboard sucks typing without tactile feedback is a major fail for me
Im using an Acer Iconia W700-6465. I will try PA on my LG express laptop its 5 year old but it has a ATI Radeon chipset so is more likely to run game,, maybe.. lol.
You don't need to change anything until you met this bug. I just warn you about possible problem. Can you link page you download drivers from? E.g exact page when download link for installer located.
No stressing or anything, im not to worried i was expecting the game to run unstable or not at all on integrated chipsets. Thank-you for your assistance so far, its great to see good help and feedback on here, makes me happy to invest much more, good staff make a good game as much as the game itself
Probably it's might fail for some reason. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=3712&DwnldID=23106 Please try to download and install "Win64_153117.exe" from here. And please make screenshot of error if you'll get one.
Intel Driver Update Utility, my bad, i have been awake for over 18 hours the link is to the main download page and doesn't change, the rest must be php or embedded html5 or java. so here's a pic of what i get my end when i try to update drivers.
Actually PA is pretty stable on HD3000 on my laptop and it's should work fairly well on HD4000. Problem you have is most likely related to software problem. One question: are you using mouse and keyboard with this tablet (or some base?)? Just curious how you want to play RTS with touch screen
:0 your link is letting me download driver.. hoping it works with my system and game, will post feedback when downloads done Thank-you Thank-you.
mouse keyboard via bluetooth, unless game uses lots of processor then bluetooth lags and i use a logitech f710 gamepad and configure joystick software to map thumb stick to mouse x y and assign mouse to buttons and keyboard buttons to rest of gamepad.
Even if you met problems feel free to back to this topic because this game is 100% works on this iGPU and your problem is fixable.
And if the engineers and devs make the game tablet touchscreen freindly i'll bend over backwards n kiss all your *sses in example, one finger touch to select individual troops. two finger pinch for zoom in out, two finger drag planet round (pan). touch and drag for selection reticle for selcting large groups of troops, same as mouse im guessing but screen freindly.
on screen troop grouping and assigning of groups and selecting of groups. in a command bar somewhere, look boom instant touch screen friendly stuff right there
