Are there plans to have a rotate camera command?

    Personally, I'd really like to see this implemented, as part of the 'normal' camera control set. I know about using [SPACE] and [CTRL]-[M], but for the most part I prefer using the normal camera and think it could be improved by allowing rotation of the map (clockwise and counter-clockwise).

    Does anybody know whether this is planned?

    Yes agreed. I've seen Petard doing this. I read somewhere on the forums you can do it with CTRL+arrow keys but I haven't tested it. Would definitely be something I would like to use in my camera control.

    It does work :) I use it a lot for orientating the camera at the start so I have the north pole towards the top of my screen. Just for the hell of it, really. Then I save that camera position and use it for the rest of the game to get my bearings.

    Btw. pressing N should automatically align you north.

    Yeah that worked perfectly, ta!

    CTRL & left/right == rotate camera
    CTRL & up/down == zoom in/out

    Is there a free cam mode to where you can look up at the horizon? trying to use ctrl+m and that doesn't seem to work all that well... you can see it trying to look at the horizon and just ends up scrolling the planet instead...

    The Camera Controls as detailed in the Shortcuts Sticky worked fine for me last time I used them;
