I have had several issues, and I checked the first 5 pages of the forum to make sure I was no re-repeating anything, but i'm sure it's been stated elsewhere.

    1. I have an issue where my graphics chip (not card) will randomly crash in the middle of the game, causing it to black- screen and crash. I have a Radeon HD 6770M graphics chip in my laptop, which is an HP Pavilion dv6. Windows 7. Everything's up to date, all updates are installed. I know it is not a software conflict because it works fine any other time. The only other time this happens is on Minecraft. Never on any other games. Anyone have any ideas on that one?

    2. My second issue, is not as much of a problem. I couldn't find anywhere else, but when you create a custom game and play against the AI, is there supposed to be just the plant your on, and the star? I am somewhat confused on whether I might just need to re-install or if that has not been added yet, or if you have to play a teams match or what.

    3. My last thing is not an issue, more of a question. Is there a way to rotate the view of the camera? I know left right up and down arrows move in those directions, but is there a way to rotate clockwise or counter-clockwise? I ask cause when my card crashes, and I re-open the game, it asks if I want to reconnect to my game, and when I do, my point of view of my base is totally thrown off and I get a bit confused for a minute, especially when I get spammed by bombers by the AI.

I apologize that this is such a long post, I just wanted to make sure I got all the information put up so that I would not have to fill in details later when one of ya'll answer one of my questions.

    Thanks!

    1. Post up more details of your laptop specs and a link a dxdiag.txt if you can, this helps people determine the problem.

    2. We are still waiting on inter-planetary combat, so it's working as intended.

    3. I think you hold CTRL and press the arrow keys to rotate.

    HP Pavilion dv6
    8 GB ram
    i7 2.00 GHz processor
    Windows 7 64 bit OS

Other than that general stuff the rest is all in the dxdiag it looks like.

And thanks on the last 2 questions.

Am I correct in saying you have the Beta drivers for your graphics card?

Edit: I have to go now but someone will help you bud, the reason I asked if you use Beta drivers is because on the driver page for your graphics card the official new driver is version 8.881

In your dxdiag it says you have version 8.882.

According to your DxDiag your graphics drivers are extremely outdated (both from 2011). First you need to update drivers for both Intel HD and discrete AMD card.

For integrated Intel HD card download and install "Win64_152818.exe" from here:
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23102

For discrete AMD open this link:
    http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonmob_win7-64.aspx
Then download and run "AMD Mobility Radeon™ Driver Verification Tool". If it's gives you driver to install just use it.

If this tool says that your hardware isn't compatible you still need those drivers.
    * I'm recommend to backup important information at this point just to be sure that don't lost it. *
Sometimes generic drivers can break something like backlight control or some hotkeys, but there is small chances that they can break your system (this still never happen to any of 20-30 people whom I'm give those drivers).

But you have no choice (game won't work properly on old drivers), so now download and install "Latest Beta Driver". When you finish driver update please post in this thread, there is something else you probably need to do.

When I do the first AMD link, it does not give me any update it just gives me the driver verification tool, and says its incompatible. Otherwise, I have no idea how to do anything else, and do I HAVE to update the Intel chip? I have it disabled otherwise my computer just jumps back and forth, causing problems.

This link have two downloads, verification tool and actual driver installer.

Backup important data (if you have any) and then install generic drivers.
You have no choice there, this game need latest drivers badly. ;)

If you 100% sure it's disabled - no, you don't have to update it's drivers.

    Also please open this directory:
    C:\Users\ YOUR_WINDOWS_USER \AppData\Local\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\log\
Then open any log file and find lines like those at start of file:
    Code:
    [14:21:38.426] INFO GL_VENDOR: X.Org
[14:21:38.426] INFO GL_RENDERER: Gallium 0.4 on AMD CAYMAN
    [14:21:38.426] INFO GL_VERSION: 3.0 Mesa 9.2.0-devel
    [14:21:38.426] INFO GL_SHADING_LANGUAGE_VERSION: 1.30
And post these lines (from your log files) here. Just to be sure that Intel card actually disabled.

What I mean is that both links give me the same thing, the checker. because they are saving under the exact same name.

Sorry about that. I'm shouldn't put link in "verification tool" title, my fault.

Open AMD website and then scroll down, you'll see "Latest Beta Driver" link.

Well, I have to thank you. I am running the installer now, will run the checker, then I think the last year of problems I have had with various programs and games will be solved. Now one last thing. How do I make your 41 likes, become 42. Cause I sure as heck am in your debt.

I want to believe you won't have any problems with real drivers compatibility.

There is "Like" link under my message (right bottom corner) ;)

Well. The verification tool still says that I am too out of date to be installed. And I did the AMD 13.10 beta...

You don't need verification tool, just ignore it. You need "Latest Beta Driver".

What do you mean? You installed beta driver successfully? Can you get new DxDiag and upload it once again?

okay so, my windows decided it was going to just update the drivers some more, and now the catalyst control center randomly pops up as no longer responding. then a window pops up saying there is no AMD drivers installed. So I am going to re-install the beta like before, then I will put the dxdiag on here...

    Seems like driver successfully updated:
    Code:
Card name: AMD Radeon HD 6700M Series
    Driver Date/Size: 9/5/2013 04:01:18, 1287152 bytes
Now everything should be much more stable for you. ;)

If system successfully loaded and games work and backlight brightness are okay it's mean your notebook working fine with generic drivers. So you shouldn't get any problems in future.

So I'm recommend you to periodically (once in 2-3 months) visit mobile drivers page and grab latest drivers. This guarantee you less problems with any games.
