Lol I know the key bindings. I just hate when i'm pubbing in like a 4v4 and everyone tries to control the tanks. Lots of people don't play competitive games often, maybe they're not in vent. This would just be an easy was to know who's doing what. Even in competitive play it would still be useful. In competitive sometimes you still have to ask you're teamate what hes doing sometimes, this way you would know instantly if he's taking over the tanks or w/e.

ya its definately tricky, but I have made it work fine. communication, communication, communication.
Cant collaborate, well then your team is out of luck. I like having a player doing the front line, another working on pointing artillery to better targets than its own choice/ making sure the base is sending units to an appropriate place.
    Division of labour.

So are you saying that specific idea isn't a good one?

I was thinking a glow/outline/highlight over units showing which player had most recently given them an order. Obviously useful for casting but in game as well you can tell when one of your teammates is microing bots or controlling engineers and you can assist, communicate or avoid interfering as is necessary.

It's impossible to define what's who's at a certain point. If you took an engineer from your teamate and build a factory with it, who does the factory and the units that come out of it belong to? what if the teamate queues units on your fac?

there'll be allied victory game mode for split control armies with different colors.

Irrelevant. The information I want is who controlled the units last. Examples: My eco teammate sees I have moved engineers and knows I must be moving them for a good reason so leaves them alone. My eco teammate moves some units to defend and then sees I move them somewhere else so he knows I have a grip of the defense and he can concentrate elsewhere.

alrigth but that's one tough algorithm to write. and there are different schools on were the line for "mine" should be drawn.

You're overcomplicating it, it's as simple as highlighting who gave the last order to a unit. There is no ownership of units in a teamarmies game, this is to give you intel on what actions and units your teammates are focused on.

ok, in that case I agree, this should be added.

i like the last used highlight, that could work. I just think part of the team armies challenge is that two people are collaborating as one team, and confusion is part of that challenge. Communication is the other.
Multi-coloured classic team alliances will be implemented as well, it was just easier to add the existing format first for some reason.

I think tooltips that say what the unit is up to (ie it's pending queue of tasks) along with 'path' lines to its destination would do quite a bit to help.
