Here's the dxdiag and yes I waited... and waited... then I tried Ctrl+Alt+Del and exited the game. I reentered the game and tried to rejoin. Then I waited, and waited, and waited. I eventually just gave up.

I've tried. It won't install properly... That or I have no Idea how to install drivers. I'm hoping it's the latter one personally.

That is really weird, don't you have such problems with any other game/program or in your operation system in general? Actually those logs (which is removed now) don't show anything special, seems like planet generation took about a minute and then game stuck.

    Few questions:
1 - What is your internet connection speed? You can test it here and post results on forum.
2 - Do you have any firewall installed?
3 - Anything especial about your network configuration?
Because it's seems your problem in connection between you and game server (which is not same with ladder).

PS: Please check your "Inbox", I'm send some message to you.

I use Windows defender, and my internet connection is quite good... 14.5 Mbs download and 4.0 Mbs upload if I recall. Nothing has changed since I last tested that so it should be accurate. Also nothing particularly different about my network set up. My Computer is hooked up to a standard store bought router and that is hooked up to the modem. Again a standard modem, which is only a couple months old.

Edit: I checked and PA is allowed through the Firewall.

Have you tried to generate plenets in system editor? Is it successfully finished in same time or you also got some freezes?

Well I can generate multiple planets in the system editor without issue. A bit of lag when zooming in but nothing crippling. Also I discovered what was happening when I installed the Beta Driver. Apparently Windows was blocking the software from using the 13.4 Driver so I had to manually go in and tell it to use the 13.4 Driver instead of the 13.1 driver. Never had that happen before so I'm a little confused as to why it decided to do that now. I have yet to try to join another game for the moment but hopefully this helps. Fingers crossed people.

Edit: Apparently Restarting and properly shutting down your computer are two different things. Restarting does NOT allow your computer to update... Apparently I had 40 Windows updates waiting to happen.

I'm doubt it related to your problems with driver. :(

I love how you assume I'm a complete idiot. There is no sleep button on my keyboard. I go to the start menu and select restart. I do not hit SLEEP or HIBERNATE. Anyway I only mentioned it because it was possible there was a conflict between the game and previous versions of Windows 7.

Well apparently not on my computer. Perhaps its something in the settings I have to track down. Probably did something when I first got it that I forgot about afterwards.
