Idk if this is normal but i get really low fps and once the game gets going its unplayable. I know its a alpha but with this system i expected atleast playable fps. This is with all setings at the lowest possible option. System specs: Windows 8 i5 760 @2.8Ghz hd7970 ghz (latest drivers ofc) 16GB DDR3 RAM PA is running from my SSD Also PA seems to be using only 1 core of my cpu and that 1 core is 100% used which is probably the reason for such low fps.
Have you tried to disable shadows? Nope, this is not related because all simulation in PA done by remote server.
Graphic settings are already at the lowest possible option. Also when i get more units they start to 'teleport' instead of just moving. As if the simulation is skipping steps.
When i use my cursor to mouse over stuff in the main menu i see that it uses alot of cpu. When i do this fast it can go as high as 80%. The menu also feels kinda laggy. Is this a bug?
This is not related to your hardware, but internet connection limitation. As I said everything calculated on server, so bandwidth between client and server is really high and if your network speed is slow you might see choppy animations. There is also some limitations of bandwidth on server-side, especially when many people playing. Yes this is a bug FS#945 This is actually bug for metal/energy, but when you use mouse you also force interface to update, so it's same problem. It's specifics of how PA UI works and Uber know about the problem. But feel free to add your feedback to bugreport.
Hmm i think that bug FS#945 is the main reason my fps is so low if that also happens inside the game. Good to know uber knows of it. Atleast its not my rig thats bugged
Nope it's not main reason, but it's may cut something like 5-15FPS easily. Game just still slow for everyone in general, but if you have abysmal low FPS on start of game it's probably some driver/configuration problem. To know it's for sure try to press Ctrl+P in game and check what exactly FPS you have. Also do you only have one monitor? What resolution it's have? PS: DxDiag.txt also might be helpful, just to be sure what exactly configuration you have.
im also reciving very low fps almost a constant 10 fps even after what ever i change my settings to. I have news drivers / Dx Win 7 -64 Q9550 3.4 Gtx 480 8 gigs ram
