So I've been playing for a fair bit, and in the most recent patch, if you rejoin a game, you rejoin the first still-ongoing game that is still being played. From Uber Patch 52515: "You should be able to rejoin a game, even if you've already been defeated, if you wish to watch the rest of gameplay. " Example: Game 1: - 4FFA and you are eliminated early, and you go to start game 2 Game 2: - 5FFA and are unable to load the server, PA quits, and have to rejoin. Not able to rejoin this game and instead join Game 1; everyone else carries on their merry way. Game 3: -2vs2vs2, same deal as last, I'm unable to join a new game (lobby is okay), but I crash before the planet loads. When I rejoin, I end up joining Game 1. Game 4: -2FFA, wasn't able to play against the AI, PA freezes, I restart and am joined to game 1, rather than the AI. Game 5: - 2vs2vs2, able to join, as the Game 1 has finally ended. Now, I see the point of wanting to join a game to watch the ending, but I would rather join the newest game I had started to play. Thats just my two cents, and I apologise beforehand if there is already a documented workaround.
You can choose to "abandon" the game it's trying to reconnect you to. then it will propose to reconect you to the next one you launch. The reconnect feture isn't just for one game start to end until it's finished. you should be able to do it with whaterver game you launch. it technically does not even have a limit appart from the game time which is set by the final victory. but on a game versus an AI I've rejoined as many as twelve times. cheers!
