Hi guys, what do you think about this ideas I have for PA? 1. various sizes for planets, like the Earth, the Mars and Jupiter and so on... 2. Moons circle around a planet and the gamers play on the moon.. so.. and if the situation gets dicey can one player escape to the main planet.. or the the other way.. escape from the blue planet or a moon project. A Jupiter with several moons some suitable for buildings and others not. Or for escaping a destroyed planet... 3. Night/Day shift.. or change. Seeing the other planets or moons on the horizon and the buildings or the battles on this moon ( explosions and so on ). Light at the units at night like in "Earth 2150" this would be dynamic . 4. change the orbit from planets or moons if I let crash an asteroid on them and he is not big enough to destroy the planet... 5. a shield that protect the planet against smaller asteroids and rockets from the moon or so. 6. an opportunity to get the planet back in the original orbit after crashing with an asteroid 7. dying planets slowly break like a countdown for something like escaping this place. If not... game over. (start small again on other planets for example after escape) 8. Planets with rare material so the player have to look for asteroids with more material to support the progress on the planet. (opportunity to destroy or conquer this asteroids and also to protect them against conquest. 9. interplanetary ships...^^ and 10. war in an asteroid belt... some buildings here some mines there... so that every player have to protect several smaller and larger asteroid. on the smaller asteroids more materials on the bigger ones more space for buildings.. I think cool with teleporters or some other possibilities to connect asteroids. what do you think? I knew that the game is almost in the final stage... but why not mention some ideas. perhaps you have some ideas to... post them here if you like. I´m sorry if some of this ideas already exist... I´m not up to date then I think^^
1) already in the game. You can set the size of a planet, and the planets are of different types (lava, tropical, earth-like, death star, etc). There will be gas giants too. 2)you could certainly set up a game like that. There are even more possibilities for custom scenarios with the system editor. 3)This is already in the game. 4)I *think* this is something that would be possible with realistic physics, not sure EXACTLY what you're saying. 5)Shields are a debated topic that may or may not be on the game. Right now, I think the plan is that it would be better to use lots of nukes against an oncoming asteroid, or anti-nukes for nukes from the moon or whatever. 6)You could always hit it with a second asteroid to rebalance it 7)not sure what "dying planets" is. 8)I don't think this will be in the game...? certainly things like gas giants would be useful for getting lots of energy and metal, and asteroids are useful because they're ammunition for bombardments, but... 9) Probably not in the game in the sense that you would expect. Yes, there will be traveling between planets with rockets and things, but no star destroyers or space battles. 10) I would assume this would take 3 minutes in the system editor... And yes I think teleporters will be a thing, though unit cannons and landers would probably be better? Overall, most of these ideas have been proposed before, and I think that most of them are already planned or already implemented. Tip: There's a list of confirmed features floating somewhere. Perform a search. Much of this is in game or already discussed. Various sizes are in game. What's more, we only have access to the small planets. Multi planet interaction will be in the game. Watch the trailer. You'll be able to move to the moon, other planets in the solar system, you name it. Night/Day shift is in the game. Orbit change will be in the game. Gravity, hits, and more will be able to effect planets. You'll even be able to set up custom systems. Want a time limit on the game? have it set for planets to collide after 30 min. Shields have been discussed. Uber is exploring options. Likely won't be shields to engulf entire planets, moons, or astroids. As stated, orbits will be manipulatable or fixed. Dealer's choice. As stated, solar systems where planets crash into each other will be in the game. You can have it set up where that's the end of the game, or where you have to escape before the planet crashes. Likely won't be different material, but varying planets, like gas planets, will have different resource balances. Uber has already stated that the features of gas planets won't be overly conducive to combat, but will be great resource generators. Interplanetary ships as in Star Wars style space ships won't be in the game. Instead there will be various units that are used to transport between planets. Fighting over planets, astroids, etc, will be in there. The game is far from the final stage actually. It's in Alpha and large components of gameplay are barely, or not even, implemented. hm... seems like all your ideas have been implemented or discussed. Next time, do a search before posting.
So thank you and sorry for the double entry^^ Do someone know how it could be possible to reach other solar systems? With ... ... ... Asteroids maybe? Or a jumpgates like the terrans in the X games? Building it, sending it to the destination and then start the invasion? Yes I´m to lazy to use the search bar thing.
You're too lazy to use the searchbar, but you aren't lazy enough to write up an entire topic full of questions? If you want to be really lazy, you search because then you don't have to write up a topic.
...regardless, the search bar is there to help you learn what has already been proposed, and what is already implemented. Regarding inter-solar-system travel...not in the sense that you're thinking. There will be a galactic war metagame of sorts, but from the limited information we have it's looking to be a fancy matchmaking system with competitive aspects. The idea is that a single game is set within a solar system, and the game takes place across multiple planets. edit: and if you're starting a game, you're flying your commander into the solar system, he in turn builds units for the invasion.
