try it peeps, just try it. Recall -> get your mind blown. EDIT : schuesseled192: you're being obnoxious and also are you being sour? I would think that the people from this forum be more aware and open to what Beta is, the way it implies things are still in progress and that you are not to expect a finished product experience and that you must adapt to it. also, it is free what is your problem? since when does free content merit COD flaming?
hence ignorant Only on a daily basis. It's 100% noob unfriendly, i would have genuinely prefered to have been beaten as a child than to have experienced galactic war. Fact. Lets move on, you like it, i think it's drivel. No need for a debate. I realise it's a beta, but unlike PA, another unfinished project, it lacks potential.
Just because someone is new to something doesn't mean they are lacking knowledge. I know plenty about PA but I am still an RTS noob.
schuesseled192 the fact you say that implies FaF is noob unfriendly. Nothing could be further from he truth, never in my life have I seen a community more willing to lend a helping hand then that of FaF's. you even have personal trainers FOR FREE. They don't know you, they don't know even your name, they don't ask for it, they train you. where have you ever seen that? equivalent level trainers for starcraft ask 40-60$ an hour!
Clearly you don't know as much as you claim, knowledge is power. It is possible to be talentless and not a noob. It's not a mutally exclusive situation. i haven't, not even in FAF. so... suck on that lemon. And besides we were discussing galactic war, not FAF itself.
A newb is someone new to the game who is ignorant of various features and intricacies. A noob is someone who isn’t new to the game but lacks any kind of talent and makes no effort to learn or improve. This is usually accompanied by an overestimation of their own skill. I do tend to agree with the experience of schuesseled when you first try GW. Someone needs to make a good tutorial.
A waste of time for you to do it now perhaps - you're obviously busy actually working on GW itself. But something like a wiki page might be a good idea if someone else fancied doing it!
+1. There is a huge difference between knowing things and practical applications. I suck at rts games in general but I still know quite a bit about sc2 openings, build orders, etc. Just look at the spreadsheet in my sig. I know a ton of the math behind this game. Does that make me able to best straddle the line between 0 resources and wasting them? No. I'm a noob. But am I ignorant? Hell no!
It treats of PA ^^ PA has Galactic War. interesting to note that FA had it first. also it apeals to an RTS public.
Galactic War was actually discussed back on Sup Com, but was never implemented for a number of reasons (time, focus, etc). Talking to Neutrino, I think they even had some thoughts on this back on the original TA. I mean, who wouldn't want to take over a galaxy?
