Sorry about any bugs. This was kind of a last minute build because we wanted to roll some of this stuff out sooner rather than later.
Still a good update! But even after two more games with AI, it still only builds the first 4 buildings (sometimes even less or nothing) and then stops to do anything.
Kryten - are you playing on heavily water planets? I've played a bunch of AI games on the latest build (mostly earthlikes) and haven't seen any (repeatable) issues with AIs not building, assuming they have a reasonable amount of land and metal spots to work with.
There is still the issue of where the AI is unable to determine if a position is pathable or not. So, if the AI goes to place something and it happens to be in a spot it cannot move to, it will get stuck repeatedly trying to build that one thing. Once I get some more nav support this issue should go away.
No, I have the problem also on big landmasses and planets with little water. I will give it a few more tries now and maybe try a reinstall or so.... Not that AI is so much important, but it seems I am the only one so far having it.
This is what the Ai is max building. If there is water or no spots near, then it builds less or nothing.
I have never seen the AI do that, even in a mountain range I have had the AI set up at least 3 factorys.
The intresting thing is, that the AI is not stuck or something like that. If I destroy a mex, it builds one. The AI comm also defends itself. When I play with 3 AIs, all three do this...I had 5 games now, and in every game it was the same.
The AI is still very early, But man i hope this game ends up with a good AI. Because sure its fun to play vs players i get that, But like in Starcraft 2, sometimes you just wanna mess with AI, and im sad to say the AI is horrendous in SC2. Its better in Heart of the swarm, but man is it sad to such abysmal AI from a big company. I hope Uber can give PA a good fun and challenging AI.
ctrl-p twice on the title screen causes PA to crash I'm gonna hazard a guess that it's because there is no "server" or "sim" running at that point
Some editor fun: The water draws over the temp "mini sun/moons": And, if you add a zero radius planets with a mass greater than the mass of other planets you add, you can get a binary planet system: The zero radius planet was set to 10000 while the other 2 were set to 1000 mass. Tried to get it so they orbited equally, but one orbited faster resulting in clipping:
This should be very interesting. In my work in the IT field, I have designed networks, servers and desktop computers. I would love to read any information you share about that.
