How did I not post this before :

Gyle does this series where he determines each team as a political party and says the team that wins is political party that is going to win in real life and gets it right everytime (with that method he accurately predicted Trump and Brexit against what the polls and statistics were predicting. so it's a pretty damn accurate method) he predicted trump when the polls . Hopefully it's the third time he got it right.

not spoiling the result although if you do want to spoil it for yourself you can watch the first few minutes to see which team's which then skip to the end.

aaaaand my ballot this morning :
    20170507_100154.jpg

I feel this method fits me best. technically by the rules defined in the french elections (if I'm right) this ballot should count.
    • no written text other than the candidate's name
    • no other candidate name that isn't on the cards
    • no strike-through of the written candidate's name
but then again if it doesn't ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The right wing wave that took down the UK and the US continues to underperform in Europe. That alone is a reason to cheer imho.

Oh it isn't just that. Most things about Macron make him seen like a decent choice, even beyond the obvious "he is not gonna burn down Europe".

He probably is slighly amused at how highly you think of Mélenchon. "First true democracy" is a pretty damn high bar.

are we really doing this again?

I know it's easy for you on the outside but to put this into perspective let me just play colacolin for a second here and you be tatsu :
"oh that german cadidate is proposing enslaving the entire german people. that sounds great actually this means boosted european economy and by extention means my purchasing power here in france will rise.

common germans! don't whinge! take one for the team! tighten your butts and do us a solid!
It's that or (*high-pitched effeminate voice*) hitleeeeeeeeeeeeer"

you really are being truely heartless.

he probably drools his brain out his nose also... probably!

how is it not? do any of you here genuinely think having a constituents assembly instead of a president is a bad idea?

Or are all you all "Gramps-don't-changem's" who think anything that we currently have is the best and any change is a bad change?

I would assume not given the past pro-obamacare movement in this thread.

Except Macron is not going to enslave anybody. He seems to propose some economy friendly things that may or may not hurt people in some way. I just can't see the demon in him you apparently see.
I'd vote Macron for German chancellor if he and Merkel would be the options given to me.

I am not very well informed about the particular way your government works. Not having a powerful president sounds like a good idea however.

    good least that's cleared up.
are you being purposefully blunt here?

fist off work with me here. I was acting you out to make you understand why you feeling macron's great is such a dickk move. no need to play dumb on purpose you understood what I meant. unless you'd like that treatment and I should play dumb with you as well?

this is the man who forced the el-Khomri law onto the french. law that basically gives the entire judicial power to companies within themselves and leaves workers nothing to negotiate with.

this is the man who disregarded his duties as financial inspector in favor of his own pockets.

this is the man who in the attali commission passed decade-long indestructible laws against worker and state interests.

the man who constantly works towards tearing down socialism and replacing it wherever it is with free market.

the man who undid the safeguards built against having another stock market crash.

    I'm just rewriting all I wrote here : https://forums.uberent.com/threads/the-politics-thread-play-nicely.70907/page-150#post-1140511

evidently you STILL have yet to read it.

It don't think I'm talking to colacolin anymore. you've turned into elodea

I did read it. It's just that you're framing everything as badly as possible, much worse than most other sources whose comments on Macron I've read.

You're extremely worried about him, that much is clear. We'll see how justified that is.
At this point we can just hope you're wrong and Macron won't **** up France, cause neither of us wants that to happen. ;)

yes why don't I hope tatsu won't come back to the forum tomorrow and reply to me because that makes alot of sense : he's done so for the past five years, ergo he won't do the same, people change or something -- what's that? I mixed up the people I apply these separate logics to? Oh sorry! I meant Macron! Macron is going to stop doing what he's been doing and that's the only person on earth I apply this separate logic to and of course tatsu remains in the group with the majority logic where we assume one is going to continue to do what one's done ...haha ... that previous statement would've been stupid

How exactly is it "framing everything as badly as possible" @cola_colin? I see you're playing the devil's advocate here but when you don't pick up on any of my statements and go into why they're framed or something stupid it starts to look like you're playing the devils advocate for the sake of playing the devil's advocate. Or that you're masking your true intentions and you already know you're backing an evildoer.

For instance : how is there any sort of frame on Macron's role in removing anti-crash safeguards? please go ahead and spin that in a nice light. that'll be entertaining.

What's the good spin on him blatantly disregarding his duties as financial inspector in profit of banks?

let's start with these two cuz I don't wanna drown you
