    it's called pandering.

It's what you do when despite being internationally known your comics don't even feed you.

woah, hold your horses mate. There ain't a devil behind every bush.

I was referring to the fictional person Devak brought up as "conforming to bad stereotypes" that inclined one to want to punch them. Perhaps e.g. a true KKK white nationalist. Me, I just want their stupidity to be visible to the whole world as they hang themselves with their own words - no input required from me. Who said anything about bullying?

It would be remiss of me if I didn't warn you about censoring free speech because 'muh feels'. If you honestly seek the truth, you'll find yourself going through life discarding and picking up many new ideas. Best get used to it - it can sometimes be painful. The point of free speech is that our ideas die so that we don't have to.

And I was referring to you, the non-fictional real person posting on these forums. In this case, you referring to a group of people as "socialists" and inferring they're the only group capable of inflicting such violence.

Free speech is always censored. There exists a multitude of laws, both within and outside of the US, on these kinds of actions. The Constitutional right to free speech only affects American citizens r.e. Government interference (Twitter banning you is not affected, for example), and does not exempt you from the consequences. If you're imprisoned due to saying something bad in a public place, you've still said that thing in a public place (presumably knowing it would break a law). That is a consequence of your free speech, not the prevention of that free speech from happening in the first place.

Actions have consequences. I think it's about time you accepted that this affects you, and people who share your beliefs, and not just "socialists" who need to "hang themselves with their own words" :)

"We're losing a lot of people because of the Internet," Trump said. "We have to go see Bill Gates and a lot of different people that really understand what's happening. We have to talk to them about, maybe in certain areas, closing that Internet up in some way. Somebody will say, 'Oh freedom of speech, freedom of speech.' These are foolish people. We have a lot of foolish people."

Wow, why are you bullying me? How could you say such hurtful things? You're denying my existence and infringing upon my human rights by disagreeing with me and making me not feel welcome. You need to learn to self censor instead of spewing all this hurtful violence.

If only there was a moderator who could enforce my right to feel safe from opposing arguments.

I love it when people play the stereotypes game, and prove my point about them making generalisations.

I think he's been quite polite explaining his ideas, criticising others' and not making personal attacks.

If you can't even support 2 decent presidential candidates, maybe you should lay off voting for a while, instead of trying to vote moderators and other stupid stuff.

If that's aimed at me just so you know I'm not American... so I've got nothing to do with any president thankfully :p

My idea on the two moderators I suggested is I feel they cover opposite ends of the spectrum, so the only way to maintain balance is to have both :p

@tatsujb I thought of all people in this thread you'd get the irony of my suggestion without me adding a /s?!

Sarcasm is hard to pick up on the internet unfortunately. Was using their own dumb logic against them to show how hypocritical and silly it was. Or maybe you are being sarcastic here and i am not picking up on it either lol.

I was arguing for free speech against people who keep trying to make the argument that i should shut up because they feel bullied and unwelcome by arguments that point out flaws in their ideology. Which might have some moral validity if I was merely ad homming and bullying but that was obviously not the case.

I didn't just say socialism is stupid. I said socialism is stupid because x. So, @Gorbles you can either respond to the argument or continue making yourself look silly trying to make this into a social justice issue crusading against internet bullies.

All of this is important in light of the "fake news" trend that started in America and is picking up steam globally, giving the EU some funny ideas of their own. Government intervention and regulation always stem from a crisis of some sort whether real or trumped up, then gains social inertia and is very hard to reverse when the original conditions no longer exist. Income taxes are a prime example stemming from ww1 and ww2. Or RICO laws from the time of organised mafia crime now being abused in the war against pot smokers etc. etc.

If you are for censorship, be careful what you wish for. One day you too will be censored in your hour of greatest need.

    @cwarner7264
Thoughts on the snoopers charter that recently passed in the UK?

I don't think I'm the one making myself look silly, to be honest :p

And yeah, everything about the Snooper's Charter is a joke. Top to bottom, an absolute joke.
