Certainly less dead than grey goo. Poor game went down to 50 players height in a couple months!

If we look at the Steam chart PA is one of the games who has the most players in the rts genre . A "new" game like Ashes of the singularity currently fewer players.

First time I've been in these forums for almost 2 years. Sad to say that this game died because of a lack of development vision and the disconnect between the community, their realistic ambitions and what the developers were churning out, or a lack thereof I should say. PA had a lot of issues and bringing in Titans was the final blow to UberEnt's legitimacy as a gamedev in my opinion.

I probably won't be replying. Just bored and got sidetracked here.

@nosebreaker I think your wise words are needed here... after you solved the true economy thread maybe you can work your magic here and determine if PA is really 'ded' and all the players are in fact just alt accounts of @elodea (does that mean that I'm actually also him, what did it all mean?)...

I thought The Nile (denial) was a river in Egypt.

    http://steamcharts.com/top/p.16 Titans, a new release, I guess.

http://steamcharts.com/search/?q=planetary PA, could not find it, and I tried, somewhere between #700 and 695

To quote myself "Its dead Jim"

Right. And how many of those games are in the rts genre?

A whole lot, a bunch, a cornucopia of rts games. Please don't cry, UBER will fix this, the way they fixed Monday Night Combat, and Super Monday Night Combat (sarcasm).

    Where you born stupid?

No one here said PA was a top played game, or a huge success.
We said it's not dead, due to the simple fact that people still play it regularly.

No, he was born an ******* who likes to troll forums of a game he doesn't play because he has nothing better to do with his life. Ignore him.

<300 players per hour is a dead game mate.

More people play TA than PA. Now that's sad.

Why is not make that < 2000 or even 10000 players per hour?
For a world population of over 7 billion, that's tiny so any games with less players must be dead.

Really how do you work than one out?

    Steam charts say otherwise.

One day I'll spent some time making a simple bot that goes around online forums telling people their favorite game is dead. Then I somehow have to make sure that it keeps running for the next 100 years and it'll continue to tell people how dead their games are long after I myself am dead.

Because about 150 people play TA on GameRanger and other 3rd party lobbies.

So now you saying TA isn't dead, just like PA isn't dead.
    Ok good for TA.

Well I played my first games of PA last night for a while (not avoiding PA specifically, just don't get much time to game these days)... Got my *** handed to me by everyone :p Still didn't have any issues finding a game.

For me- a game is 'dead' if I do onto the online servers and I can't get a match without waiting an unreasonable amount of time. That certainly wasn't the case for me. What I do think is possible is that PA has very low player numbers at certain times, although evenings in UK time zone it's pretty busy. I mean PA Chat was full a couple of times when I joined.

The other interesting thing- there were more original lobbies than Titans, with most Titans owners opting to play Legion. Maybe that is something that would really help the base game, a version of Legion intended for vanilla PA?

I say there is some salt just not from me.
I'm not calling games with a small player base dead.
