I feel a Battlefield set in WW1 might be less than desirable. Either you have WW1 combat in multiplayer and players are just kind of sitting across from eachother for an hour until one side runs out of tickets, or it's not WW1 combat and people are just kind of running around killing (Which is probably what multiplayer with devolve into) Which then makes it.. Why even be a WW1 game in that case? I was pretty hopeful I was going to get Battlefield 1944 so that's kind of the reason I'm a bit disappointed. Though I'd rather this over another new modern one. Also what the **** DICE, again with the damn lense flare and shitty bloom all over your face. The characters aren't even wearing helmets with glass for god sakes. :L So damn immersion breaking.
Honestly, if DICE does somehow manage to simulate WWI trench warfare in multiplayer, I think something interesting can be done with it. I doubt they will be able to, but it'd be neat. Also, WWI planes n' ****.
So, I've built up enough money pawning steam cards to buy a game. I only have 3 weeks before I'm off the internet for 4-6 months, so I can't wait on the summer sale(I'll miss it entirely). Enter the Gungeon or Undertale? Gungeon has more replay value, but people tell me Undertale is pretty good. I can't afford the soundtrack of either.
check out Verdun. In terms of realism and immersion it'll far outclass whatever EA ends up releasing BF1 as, of that I'm certain.
If you really like Roguelites, get Gungeon. Undertale is pretty good, but it's not as replayable. Maybe has 15-30 hours of content depending on how into it you get.
I haven't heard of Gungeon, but Undertale is hilarious, unique and my girlfriend loved it. Plus, one you beat it, you can play it again and the game is different.
Civilization VI! http://kotaku.com/civilization-vi-coming-later-this-year-1776007440 Not sure how I feel about unit stacking coming back. EDIT: It's already a top-seller on Steam... Preorder culture has gone too far.
Indeed it is real time. Might I add that multiplayer is quite stable and you can pause and speed up the game whenever. (The only issue is actually getting into the lobby, but once youre there its all good). So far im really happy with the game. So much potential on the modding side of things as well.
