In-game mod manager is most obvious. Custom servers now show without any mods enabled. Some extended mod support under the hood that you won't notice. Currently uses Custard's 32 colors instead of old 12 colors; this will change. Expect more changes to come in future PTEs; this is the first of a series of them.
there is the community mods tab, it's like PAMM but in-game idk where the rest of the 440mb is though
and how did they implement support for custom servers, did they just have the client connect to playfab and pa-stats to retrieve the server list?
I don't want to uninstall the PAMM now since I don't know when the new version will be online. And I think that's why I don't see the in-game PAMM. I did notice there are more colors can be used for player. But I think the original colors are more distinct.
You don't have to uninstall pamm... There is absolute no reason to not use the ingame one. You haave to uninstall the mods but that really doesn´t matter. Also the colours are the same as vanilla plus some others. Don´t no what are you complaining?
The colors alone make this a good update. Its like my 2nd grade birthday when my parents upgraded my arsenal of restaurant crayons to the more exotic crayola 64 color edition. I also like the mod tab. This will help the community be more inclusive with new players since they dont have to use a search engine like before. I think the "recommended" tab was also a good addition too. Rather than sifting through all the mods, since some are for niche purposes, these will be easy to find in a cinch. I know this is PTE and this is REALLY early, but I thought I should mention a couple of suggestions. Granted, these may be difficult to implement for various reasons, but I figure this is a good place to throw them out there: - Add a "most popular/ most downloaded" option when sorting mods.(unless this is what the recommended tab will do) - Rather than a list, put the mods in tile format ( like in PAMM) - Have map packs as a separate tab for easier sorting. - put the actual mod description in the center of the screen, rather than the "details" (This is need to know information on a need to know basis.) - Have a description on what a client and server mod is. This may seem trivial but people may get confused... This is the best news I heard all week. Thank you UBER!
AFAIK basically so currently a lot of colors are similar but when you've got 32+ players there's not many colors that won't look like other colors. In the future, when you have <32 players you'll have a reduced palette, for example you won't have both ivory and cream as color choices. There is a difference between PAMM installed mods and mods installed via the Community Mods Manager (CMM). CMM system is more efficient, so please backup your pamm mods folder and delete it and reinstall all of your mods using the CMM. @Mirolog Why is Bigger Explosions at the very bottom of the mods list below mods that released two and a half years ago? Because you're bad and you should feel bad, that's why. Fix your derped up date format so that it appears in the proper place please. Is @Fr33Lancer still around? Their Team Colored Commander Explosion mod has the same problem.
