so I know this is an old issue, but I cannot think of anything else to do except by another computer. So once again, I have the HD Graphics 4000, Intel. When I check the site it showed that they had released an update for it, so, my question, would updating the card fix the issue, I know it will never be fixed now due to Ubers dormant state with the game, but it makes me weary of water planets and makes me refuse to play MM really since I am at a huge disadvantage of not being able to see said ship.

It doesn't happen on NVidia cards to my knowledge.

I believe it's an issue with Intel cards, might even be the 4000 specifically, so switching to a discrete card would solve it.

well, being a laptop, the card if fused to the motherboard and I am not sure if another can be added. If I learned that I could I would look into it.

while I know it was a small issue for a select few, I do wish said issue was fixed. :(

What causes the issue anyways, what makes the Leviathan different compared to the other naval units?

I used to have this issue on my old computer with Intel graphics but was pleased to find it didn't persist on my new computer with a nivadia card.

its good to know that it doesn't affect other cards... so lucky

 buuuttt.... is there anything I can do to fix this? I just wish Uber would look at it, I know they don't work on PA anymore, but it most likely not be a major fix.

I think they have tried to fix this before. They were never successful, obviously.

really? I don't think so... I know that they knew about it as one of them told me awhile back that it was on the list of things to do, but very low.

Yeah, this is a bug that strictly happens on Intel HD3000/4000 and even then rarely. And to be fair, Uber did try to reproduce it (first step in fixing), but it's extremely hard as it needs a very specific hardware configuration (see here). Most HD3000/4000's will be just fine. It's really weird.

I'd be wary. I built a whole PC from the bottom up to play SupCom and when I built it and plugged it in there was an underlying issue which meant I could not play the game and there was no support available.

minus the card, any ideas on what the other configs are? I don't know as some say its due to the size and weapons, yet I can see the titans just fine.

I did a quick search about and the issue only seems to appear under Windows. So you could always give it a try under Linux. ;)

*just don't buy a 380 or fury series card if you want to play pa. The whole 200 series as well as all other 300 cards work fine.

Yeah, sorry. I don't know. @SXX once had a hunch that it may be due to low RAM, but I think you have 8GB of that and that's not that low. And yeah, @squishypon3 once build a megabot that was big with lots of parts which had the same invisibility troubles.

It's very interesting that you mentioned that, because something I learned while making the faction mod is that PA is very picky about the amount of bones a model has. The bone limit I discovered is around 30 bones, anything like 28+ will cause some very weird issues. However, in my case, I only have one machine to test on and experienced similar effects every time a model had around 30 bones.

The Leviathan has 33 bones. This is likely the issue. I might actually be able to make a mod to fix this by rigging the model again.

@knavishplum I released a mod on PAMM called "PA Bug Fix For Invisible Battleship (Leviathan)". Can you try it out and see if it fixes anything?

that would be it then, it has to many bones. sadly I don't think I can fix it unless I get a mod or a new computer as my laptops chip is fused to the motherboard.

no, I know about that, but the issue with mods is that I would not be able to play online with it active. which is why would rather learn of a way to fix it.
