Just had my first Rainbow 6 MP match. Got landed with a bunch of kiwis with mics. And they all (especially one) had hilariously stereotypical accents. And that one guy kept saying "brew" instead of "bro" like a true kiwi. I think one of them was aussie though. Great team regardless, had some pretty successful early matches.
These three arseholes are using some glitch or exploit in R6 to ruin your match. On the House map it's somehow possible to get outside as defenders and massacre attackers as soon as the action starts. Kick, ban, avoid.
I know the game is old news, but somebody got me Splatoon for Christmas. It's the most fun I've had in a shooter since MNC. The combination of an amazing movement system and a focus on close/mid range combat is a blast. And while I'm against the kind of matchmaking lobbies most modern shooters/mobas use, I feel the way Splatoon handles it is perfect for the size of their playerbase.
Anyone remember those scam emails that came from "Norwegian Nigerian princes"? Well apparently the people who made them found out about kickstarter. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1793481042/star-wars-open-world-rpg/description
The worst part is there are already a couple thousand dollars in there. Either from people being suckers or just them funding themselves. I hope the latter, because otherwise what's to stop anyone making a dumb compaign for 1000$ and having some poor saps believe him and all he releases is a shitty flash game that barely has anything to do with the supposed original idea. "OH as it turns out it wasn't enough money, but we delivered something so it's okay!!"
Trying to make an rpg at the same level or even surpassing the aspects of the Switcher 3: Fashion hunt in all departments with 200k is, uh...., quite the impressive show of resource management. Kudos. obi jim Kenobi, lol.
Well I know that. I said a 1000$ goal. That can easily be met considering THIS got something like 16000.
...so Sony did a thing. http://www.destructoid.com/sony-tried-to-trademark-let-s-play--333071.phtml http://www.trademarkia.com/lets-play-86801899.html I mean, what more can you say about that?
IN OTHER NEWS: Half Life 3 stuff. https://www.reddit.com/r/HalfLife/comments/40hxb1/its_time_the_fans_know_what_is_going_on/cyui2uv The story: someone posted on Reddit with a bunch of stuff about Half Life 3, he was later supposedly PM'd by Valve to remove the post. The post: https://archive.is/1xWGU Is it real? Is it fake? I'll let you decide.
I love leaks, real or fake. They bring interesting talks either way. For the dialogue, a lot of those kinds of decisions are already being made in dorf fort. Pitch editing is similarly doable, but I'd imagine it would take an assload of tweaking and testing to get right. Valve has had the time and definitely has the money though, so I wouldn't throw that out the window. As for those things happening in a 3D world depending on your weapon pickups and choices? That's tough. Randomizing puzzles is easy, randomizing solutions is hard. The thing is that a number of problems will have the exact same solution, so the "oh just shoot the thing on the left" turns too "oh, find the object and shoot it." Getting those to an acceptable would be an achievement on its own. The last parts sound like pure fiction. The destructible environments and temperature interactions. I suppose some of it could be done, even in GMOD, with temperature editing friction and sticking values automatically on an object by object basis. But the magnitude this guy is talking about sounds like it's on the level of crash testing simulations, which is way more detail than we can get with games.
Here is a video us MNC guys made for a friend who passed away last year. Just got released on Ubers channel for everyone to enjoy.
According to a mod who apparently has a measure of trust with that community, it's real bcuz he sent them nude pictures of G-man or something equally unique. Still have no idea but i've also never played any HL so I have no investment. More amused onlooking! Yay!
