Skip to around 14 minutes for XCOM 2 stuffs. After a while they'll start talking about Beyond Caring again, skip to around 30 minutes.
The main issue isn't that it's a lot, it's that prices (for pretty much everything) have been going up while wages remain where they are. They've been going up pretty quickly too, AAA releases were at $60 just last year. Also, tax? On Steam?
I mean is that some sort of tax put on by the government on games- like what Australia does. Prices have been rising and wages staying the same in the US for a while- welcome to our world. ;P
Edit: For those who chose to be not there: http://www.twitch.tv/firaxisgames/v/29240372 Skip to about 16 minutes in
Interview with the big dog himself. http://www.usgamer.net/articles/int...erceptors-iron-man-mode-and-xcom-2s-next-step Most noteworthy thing is the removal of the airgame. USG: What about interceptors? Solomon: No, no fighters. This one is more "the only ship you’ve got is the one you’re flying around." I'm honestly really, REALLY happy about this. After playing a lot of XCOM over the last few months, including two of the original games and Drawn Out Conflict, I can safely say that the airgame has never been and will never be good and it needed to be trimmed from the game. The only thing that could've fixed it was replacing it entirely with Ace Combat style dogfights controlled by the player, but that would've probably cost way too much so I can understand why they didn't go that route (also it wouldn't have gelled with the TBS element of the game)
Still not sure if i'm going to play it, though my experience from XCOM was that the airgame sucked. Everything in the game was geared towards your squad and their equipment and weapons, and in a tiny corner you had some weapons and equipment for your fighters.
Watched that today. Orb has been answering my questions and I REALLY like where this game is heading. Actually unfair and difficult gameplay without being brutal and unnecessary? (XCOM:EU was unnessarily random IMHO) Count me in. Now I just need a charity fund haha.
