Hi all, I am still learning the game but I am finding something very puzzling. I am trying to learn to use keybindings. For that, I've installed the Hotbuild2 mod and I've reconfigured all the bindings to my liking. I based everything on the WASD community preset for Hotbuild2. One binding that is messing me up is Attack. I've assigned Shift-A to it but that seems to also be assigned to some camera control. I've searched through every single binding from both the in-game setup and Hotbuild2 and nothing is using Shift-A except "Attack". Do you know what else is using Shift-A and where I can find it so I can correct the binding?
Camera pan is implemented in the engine, which also implements some un-configurable modifier keys on top of the selected camera keys.
ctrl+a is rotate. And actually I was little bit wrong. The special keys are always active (sometimes they go off when typing chat messages). There doesn't seem to be a special shift binding, the game is just watching the raw key up/down state.
That's nice! In other words, I'd better find some other bindings for the actions that I am looking for. It is absolutely annoying that the camera rotates/moves when I am giving attack/assist commands. Thanks for the info!
So, I've been trying to find something that works. Shift+[key], Ctrl+[key], and Alt+[key] all have default camera control bindings assigned to them that cannot be changed. This makes setting my hotkeys pretty challenging since I would have to start using the other side of the keyboard. I am currently experimenting with the function keys but if anyone has a better layout, I'd be interested to learn about it?
Just out of curiosity, are you using wasd camera pan settings or arrow keys? I remember that this used to also switch controls like rotate (ctrl+arrow or ctrl+a/d) depending on which option you chose.
