How is it that you still come up with new strategies in FA 8 years after it's release?!?

    if you just give me the id it was listed as before you renamed it i could play it.

    do you mean by that that you started FA exe in the FA folder ? if you did you're only using the FAF lobby patches, none of FAF's balance and bugfix changes. have you never noticed the AI and UI is broken when you play this way?

    no id. offline play. no rename either. I clicked "save replay" and gave it a name then took the file.
    I directly started FA.exe to play. The one that starts the FAF FA.

    no it contains none of the FAF changes. only GUI aesthetics.

    you gotta do it in FAF.

    it did offer me to build a t2 HQ instead of a t2 factory

    just watch the replay and try yourself to reproduce. I bet it'll succeed even in FAF.

    to watch just place the file in a folder like: C:\Users\ColaColin\Documents\my games\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\replays

    then start the FAF FA and open it from ingame.

    i still have no idea what you're talking about and I never will because you're not testing it in the same version of FA i am playing ........unless you just show me the correct way.

    Play the match in a vs ai or sandbox hosted from FAF lobby and gimme the replay in stead of the "ENTERIDHERE" ;

    That's probably somehow the wrong version of PA ;) No idea. Too lazy to do more (read figure out where my full FAF is). The idea is to push up the commander or engineers with walls. You can get them to push themselves up any hill that way.

    I wonder whatever happened to the replay manager that made it so easy to playback any FA replay of any version.

    integrated to FAF. but evidently whatever you're playing on is messed up beyond even what that can repair.

    FAF will even re-download the anterior version of FAF if that replay requires it.

    from what i can tell this is fixed.


    I first moved the engy up as high as i could. then I walled off any exit then I tried to build a wall behind it and slightly on where it stood. this did not push it up higher. it simply didn't build.

    was this the hack ?

    The locked in engineer/commander needs to build it itself.
    Let it place a wall below itself and directly queue a move into invalid terrain. Yes this means it is impossible to push any unit that cannot build stuff. That has always been the case.

    the engineer built walls on top of itself and did not move out of their way. when walled in and asked to build walls beyond that it rolled through the walls but down the hill not up. I could not get it to get over even a tiny hill that was steep enough to be impassable.

    don't do hills. Do steep walls, the map in the video looks pretty bad for it. Like for example on open palms you can get up to the plateaus on the sides.
    Or on thermo you can send your commander up as well.

    dude it's been patched out :




    download FAF and have yourself a blast. You CAN NOT call FA and FAF the same game. there's just too much that has been added and changed over the course of these last 8 years. I bet you you can't execute a single exploit you know.

    You're doing it wrong. When you place the wall segment below the commander queue up a move command directly up the mountain, don't place another wall segment like that. Basically once your commander is in an invalid spot (wall below it) it will be allowed to move anywhere. If you just let it decide by itself it'll not go up the hill, but if you queue up a move command it will do so.

    I did that it didn't work the commander just spun round in circles never building that last wall. vid incoming.
