Gil-Es are still awesome long-range sniper bots, they just can't shoot magic bullets anymore Having said that, I ever use them anymore, so yeah, change it back please!
Gil-Es should not have a 'beam' type weapon. In order to work on many maps it needed to ignore ground collision, often firing straight through the ground or features, which looks terrible and doesn't really make sense (all beams weapons right now are used on or from air/orbital entities for a reason). They just need a buff. A normal, projectile-weapon-based buff.
Gil-e's have been nerfed into oblivion making T2 bots an all around worse choice than T2 vehicle. The gile used to be a micro intensive but very rewarding unit. 10-15 snuck on the perimeter of a base could take out an unwary commander. They could be used to counter titans and manhattans. At the very least they should be very good vs hardened t1 and t2 units (infernos and vanguards). They need to die easily but put out a lot of damage. Right now it feels like they fire once a second and most of those shots hit a CSG. Useless. Let's make t2 bots 'special forces' to counter t2 vehicles 'pancake maker big guns'.
Couldn't agree more Philo The are currently a non unit..... The Nosebreaker would rather see them removed from the roster untill they are fixed. Then returned at a latter date. Other wise when the hubbub dies down Uber will think that we are happy and content with this mess of a unit and do nothing about it. The Nosebreaker would happily pay 15 dollars for a stand alone release focusing on: Fixing The Sniper! The Nosebreaker loves this game so much even 30 bucks ... Put the unit in the armory and The Nosebreaker will buy it.
Snipers are fine, yes shooting trough walls is a problem, but then again every unit that shoots trough the unit in front of him would also be a problem... magicly transported metal and energy is also not realistic... Units that need no fuel is also not realistic (perhaps apart from orbital they have solar panels). a commander spawning out of nowhere is also not realistic. But then you realize: this is a game, a game where they want every unit to be usefull but nothing overpowered. some units will always be able to do more then others but it's also for that reason that they are more expensive. And still they can be countered. in the snipers case by any fats moving low price unit in the game. Mixed armies are good against most things but their speed is then again limited to the slowest unit and therefore also coutrable. You want it to be realistic why not make a mod so the sniper is now called a wizard and summons lightning from the sky: problem solved... but then again this is not needed. snipers are right now very usefull but very expensive and very fragile. and that is a good build.

If the Gil-Es used to be able to shoot through walls and **** and that got nerfed... why not buff their damage to make up for the lack of reliability? Or maybe this is the long-awaited moment for us all, when stealth gets finally implemented D:
I'm not sure a damage increase would make much of a difference - what if they fixed the reliability later and had to revert or something?

i would increase their range since they are siege, and their health also if they follow the same rule as the ares, tough and long range, that is the thing to do
