Question one: Anyone read this? Question two: Why is this in the movie thread? BECAUSE THIS BOOK IS BEING MADE INTO A MOVIE BY STEVEN SPIELBERG!!!
Saw american Ultra.... mmmh ..... meh it's more of an old theme with a new "hip" attitude. that doesn't really change the fact that it's an old theme... still like the fast pace. the comedy of the situations often worked for me but the hollowness of the characters really didn't. felt like all the good guys were straight out of a (by some feat of godlike strength) mix between scott pilgrim and twilight and all the bad guys were straight out of a mix between the latest fantastic four and G.I. joe (two movies I haven't even seen (but somehow bad enough for their reputation to have reached me)).
Somewhat old news, but apparently Borderlands is getting a movie. http://variety.com/2015/film/news/borderlands-videogame-movie-lionsgate-1201580303/ I... Spoiler: Thoughtful and well informed discussion on why I am tired of the recent influx of movies based on computer games. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
In all seriousness, I'm not really sure what to think about it. Part of me wants to slag it off because grr video game movies, but I'm also kind of interested. I mean, the games almost play out like a western, only on an alien planet with this really good dark sense of humor (when it isn't mindlessly quoting internet memes because LOL XD), and that really does have cinematic potential, but I have this horrible nagging feeling that it'll be turned into a poorman's Mad Max, like how Hitman was turned into a poorman's Bourne. I'll be awaiting the trailer, but I'm not expecting anything.
something i watched a while ago was memento if you want a bit of a brainbender that isn't too hard to understand but it's definitively worth a try .. another movie which is bit of a lowbudget but non the less intresting .. triangle ... the problem with these movies is you just can't realy explain them people have to simply try them out ..
Dope? loved it personally. the ad made it look stereotypical and undesirable. So I recommend watching it without the ad because it blew my preconceptions about itself out of the water.
Saw the Martian and enjoyed it. Though I got really annoyed when Spoiler Somebody had to explain a ******* slingshot maneuver to the DIRECTOR OF NASA. I don't know enough about space physics or chemistry to be mad about anything else.
just watched sicario was overall alright but not nessesarily something to watch in the cinema imo ...
He was explaining his plan, not the physics of it. Watched it myself yesterday. Science is pretty good. Definitely solid enough for most people. But there one massive, insane, scientific inaccuracy in this movie. Borderline unforgivable and flies in the face of all available evidence and current theories. Spoiler Sean Bean doesn't die. At all. What the fluck.
I like to imagine that Spoiler The next launch goes haywire and veers straight into Sean Bean's office, exploding him to bits.
A director's knowledge is about directing. Like, running an organization. Physics is for the physics monkeys, money is for the administration monkeys, design is for the engineers
watched age of ultron ... ... i don´t know i don´t feel satisfied with it .. there were some cool moments but overall the movie felt chaotic and not well thought through ... the villain while having a rich presonality lacked being menacing
