Wait even many years ago when I still had a TV that was only a TV that was already a thing. At least in some german channels. Take an amateur that commentates a few random youtube videos. A great success as long as your viewers are either very stupid, very bored or have no internet access of their own.
It was a thing before youtube was a thing. EI: "*insertcountryhere*'s Funniest Home Videos!". But then it made sense because youtube wasn't a thing and they were asking you to send in literal VIDEO TAPES. TAPES.
Eh personally I know I can watch this on the net, but like to watch this with the family anyway. Gives everyone a good laugh and a reason to get together again instead of everyone being antisocial each on their own comp in various corners in the house. (Till the ads get on my nerves at least).
