I really enjoy this unit. It add some versatility into the naval class. The only issue that I find odd is its inability to use teleporters. Its technically a naval unit, but the fact it can travel on land should give it the ability to use a teleporter. This could allow a naval player in mid-game to use its main planet as a catalyst for invasions, rather than having to start over once on a new planet. I would like to think that the kaiju could be the naval equivalent to what the Phoenix is to air. What are your opinions on this matter?
Stole my idea for a thread, was the first thing I tried with that unit. Basically OH GOD YEA PLS DO IT. If the Kaiju is supposed to keep value to see infrastructure, then it's very benefitional to allow them teleporting. And lets be honest, it's basically going to be a cooler hovertank. Definitly want hovertank/hoverdestroyer battlegroups. Also, teleporting sea-monsters fighting robots rule.
I'm down for it, for certain. It also opens the possibility of hoverboats making their way to lava planets.
and when will they add it? i've read somewhere else that it'd be in the "next patch", which already came. there even already came 2 patches since i've read that but the Kaiju still can't use the teleporter? :<
@jables? this would be such a nice addition as it would make naval that much more useful in interplanetary matches...
Seriously, this is the coolest unit right now. According to Wikipedia, kaiju is a direct japanese translation to "strange beast"...... More like groovy.... Im guessing this was the inspiration. Its soo graceful.
I'm guessing the model doesn't play well with the teleporter? Though I suppose there are tons of other possible problems - like the unit appearing in the ground on the other side or some such.
The monsters in japanese monster movies are generally refered to as kaiju*, it's how the whole genre is called. *kaiju = monster
