Hello there. First of all thanks mikeyh for the help :3

My problem is this: PA:Titans is horribly unstable in Windows 10. It crashes constantly, either mid-game or while loading the map. These are my specs:

    CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0 GHz
GPU: nvidia GTX 650 (1 GB vram)
    RAM: 8GB 1333 mHz
    I play on 1980x1024
My drivers are updated on both partitions

I have tried the game in both Windows 7 and Windows 10, with and withouth mods. I have ran the game from the same executable and tried both the stable and the beta version of PA Titans.

From what mikeyh told me it seems that my system runs out of memory. But it only seems to happen in Windows 10 even tough the game uses almost the same amount of RAM in both systems.

    Things in common

    • Mods did not have an effect on performance or stability
    • There was no difference between medium or low graphics settings. It didn't seem like any graphics option in particular made a difference when crashing.
    • The game is very stable in its RAM usage. My used RAM with other programs working in the background is about 85% in normal conditions. In really crazy battlefields with thousands of units it doesn't go past 92%.
    • Using either Steam or the Uber client doesn't seem to affect stability.
    • Using the pbe client or the normal client doesn't seem to have an effect either.
    • Windows 7 seems to be more stable in all computers (tried the game on another PC with inferior specs and Win 7, works rock solid)

    Windows 10

    • The game consumes about 1.8 Gb of RAM (skirmish vs AI) and stays very stable. In Galactic War it consumes about 2.4 Gb.
    • Crashes very frecuently with the message "pa.exe has stopped working" in multiplayer, AI skirmish and Galactic War. The crashes in GW are much more frecuent, and almost always crashing while loading the map.
    • Alt tabbing and having other programs working makes the game more prone to crashing.
    • When it crashes, I still have around 15% unused / free RAM remaining in my system, just as in Win 7 running normal.
    Windows 7

    • The game is unbreakable. I couldn't make it crash even once, no matter how much **** I threw into the planets. I made several games destroying planets with thousands of units patroling and fighting, etc. I could drop the FPS to 1 using Angels, but that's as far as it goes. Kudos to the programmers.
    • Contrary to Win 10, alt tabbing and using other programs doesn't seem to affect the game.
    • Win 7 consumes the same RAM in skirmish (around 1.8 Gb) but less in Galactic War, using the same presets for the Galactic War (1.8 Gb in Win 7, 2.4 Gb in Win 10, tested it several times with small galaxies)

I'm gonna post some crash logs with this message Captura de pantalla (11).png Captura de pantalla (11).png . I hope this helps to diagnose the problems some people are having when playing on Win 10.

Question about Win10: Is it an upgrade or clean install? From the way you are describing your system, I am assuming clean, but just wanted to make sure.

It's a clean install on a second physical disk.

Someone else with this found running as administrator, and with comparability mode for Windows 8.1 solved the issues.

Ah, must be a different cause then :/

I must admit I'm holding off one Windows 10 until things settle down. 7 works fine for now :p
