I mean is there a way for us modders to make our own as well? =)

Your team doesn't need to create the art, the community would do it. That's why a way to import our CSGs would be useful to everyone.

By modular highground, i don't mean like in starcraft, warcraft, dota2 editors. The idea is to use small cliff sections, everything would be CSGs. I'll make a set of photoshopped pics in a few hours to explain it better.

I think the question was more about:

Can you have somebody make a short tutorial on how exactly the configuration of the textures for the csg fbx files work?
That's the point nobody has managed to figure out yet. All CSG we could make are without textures so far.

I remember when I first tried to do this a long time ago, and ran into the same problem. Everyone making custom units seemed surprised I was running into trouble with it.
I told you it wasn't my fault! I TOLD YOU ALL!

Anyway, yeah; if this was possible we'd probably see a lot of useful custom brushes. The most useful types would probably become apparent, and could then be replicated in the main game too.
All we're missing to be able to do this is a shallow hill CSG element / platform with ramps on all sides. You would be able to connect an arbitrary number of the current CSG elements together in a completely pathable way if we had that one brush type.

Two other brush types I'd like to see though, which the current brushes can't really be used for:

    1. A completely pathable pit (all sides ramps) with last priority for CSG, which would allow you to create paths across any brushes that might connect in an odd way otherwise. Technically you can use craters for this now, but it doesn't look good and I don't know if they cut into all the new brushes (since some subtractive brushes get applied before or after certain additive types seemingly at random).

    2. A completely walled-in pit with a flat bottom. By default the bottom would be at or just below ground level. There used to be a mountain biome brush that was a bit like this if you scaled it up on the vertical axis (pictured below in an old custom biome type I made), but (for some reason) this brush isn't available in the editor regardless.
This would allow you to do things similar to this:

(pic from back when I did this during the beta)

Anyway, those are my suggestions. If we got some documentation about the brush importing process I could test them out myself :D

OH! And one last thing; there are some other brushes that we don't get to use in the editor, like the metal craters:[IMG]
Any chances they could be enabled? They're just too cool.

Havent looked and cant look before the weekend, but enabling those is likely no problem. The only problem afaik is the stuff with textures.

Yeah, I figured I might as well mention it though, since they probably should be available. Not sure why they were ignored.

The map editor isn't really working right now. It is possible to resize the platforms and that works ok, but i've found none of the new bridge/long platform CSGs can be set to pathable. So it's impossible to build a hot platforms style map, you can only have the platforms themselves.
