So while playing Galactic Wars today I got a few ideas to improve the game. On the first hand I was thinking it's a bit boring to have the same stuff over and over again:
    • you go to a solar system.
    • Enemy commander sighted.
    • You rek him.
    • Gain technology
    • Repeat until boss fights.
Now I was thinking, why do all the fights have to be a standard "enemy fight"? There could be tons of possibilities. A few examples:
    • Allied commander detected: an allied commander with an existing base is under siege by one or more enemy commanders, with existing bases (you spawn in on an empty space). If you can annihiliate the enemy commander(s) and save the allied commander, you gain a subcommander.
    • When your path ends it is really boring to go back one by one over all these solar systems. Please let us jump straight lines of conquered systems. (so not insta, but let us go a full line on a path)
    • Multiple teams: couldnt it be cool if some bigger systems had multiple teams starting? Like three to five teams each with multiple commanders, FFA.
    ...

    What do you guys think?

I remember suggesting basically the same thing a while back, as did a few others.

I would enjoy just about any addition to the Galactic War. The game type has so much potential.

Company of Heroes 2 Ardennes Assault had a similar system and I found that to be pretty enjoyable so no argument here, but you should know that you can just give the order to jump to your target system without jumping one by one.

That's a silly poll... no one's gonna vote no. Technically, even if improving galactic war was literally my lowest priority and preference in terms of what i feel needs attention, I'd still have to vote yes.
    MrTBSC and igncom1 like this.

Yep, they included that after a mod that did it was made.

Handy dandy mod, so handy it became vanilla, as have many mods over the past year.

Nope, companies want numbers. Things are mostly prioritized by how much players want it. By getting a poll it is easy for the company to see how much people on the forums would be interested in additions to the Galactic Wars.

It also servers for those who dont like to post, but just are passive readers.

Basically everything Uber promised and more is in the game, so I bet one of the next updates will be revisiting GW again since it still isn't exactly what it should be.

I understand the intend of the poll, I'm saying that the way the question is phrased is not conducive to meaningful results.

    If the question was like:

"should galactic war be the next part of the game which gets top priority for improvements?"

    or:

"Priority should be given to Galactic War relative to other areas of the game." with a series of 'strongly agree'-'strongly disagree' answers, then yes, the results of the poll would be meaningful.

But right now, a 'yes' vote gives us no information other than the person voting yes agrees with the general idea of improving galactic war at some point in some way. That information isn't really useful, as basically anyone when asked "do you want to improve this thing?" is always gonna say yes.
