I found this new unit in T2 bot factory. It cost 7000 metal. I am curious what is this. It can build advance buildings as the T2 bot fabricator. But I believe it is much more expensive than the fabricator. It has the icon which is very similar to the commander. Is it the decoy commander? I have not seen other opponent player who builds this unit, so I don't know how it looks like for the opponent. Can enemy distinguish it from main commander? If it is the decoy commander, please make its appearance looks like the main commander. Otherwise, enemy can take a closer look and find out it is a fake.
It's a proxy commander, not a decoy. It has the highest buildrate in the game and is very tanky. It's a great unit to use to colonize a new planet or to establish a beachhead on an enemy planet. It doesn't need to look like the commander, although I could see the utility in that. It's a very expensive unit and is a high priority to kill anyway. Maybe it could be tweaked to have a small nuclear death explosion.
Thanks for the answer. I originally think it is the unit to prevent the commander assassination. About issue, I post another thread in balance discussions. https://forums.uberent.com/threads/commander-assassination-from-orbital-units.69736/
I think a nuke would be a bad idea if he's supposed to stay at the front and build forward bases. Would be more of a danger for you than for the enemy.
True. I was just wondering if the build powered needed to be offset, but the cost probably does that.
Only played Titans for about 4 games, but I also think he's the only one who can start construction of an Atlas.
Otherwise you'd just use a bunch of low level fabricators anyway. I imagine the biggest effect is creating beachheads becoming a bit easier. Which is a good thing in my book, considering how strong turtling can be in PA.
