Super expansion Uber! You hit all the right notes and filled in all the right gaps. It's rare in an RTS to have an expansion add this many units because of the risk that entails, but you guys pretty much nailed this one. It's nice to see some of the awesome HR work not go to waste either! Love that there are new mechanics/depth like unit energy consumption, wreckage, and some new unit behaviours. Really well implemented and not overdone like some vanilla PA mods were trying to do (no specific mod, just in general). It's been rejigged enough that optimising for 1v1 seems to be much more difficult and require a higher skill cap. Multiplanet systems also seem like they have a place in 1v1 now too (actually fun), which is great. Might be able to convince clopse to play one. Either coincidentally or not, alot of the good ideas from the vanilla gameplay modding scene seem to have been implemented in some variation, but in a way better than the original mod authors ever could or did. So if that was a result of you guys researching some of that stuff, and i'm only speculating here, it's appreciated. The art is fantastic and the ui polish shows. Infact, the new units look so good that they make the vanilla units look quite out of place . From the limited games i played there's performance issues, sounds not playing, area command issues, some crashes, not being able to see units bug, can't set automatic orders for units coming out of orbital teleporter, problems with bot arty range targeting (arc/speed related i think), and perhaps some gameplay and pacing problems with regard to planet enders. Zeus seems like it could do more to differentiate itself as well, but these all seem like minor teething problems. Either way, great start. It's obvious you guys really double downed on the quality this time and it should carry you through the initial steam complaints and negativity. Eventually this will be what people associate with PA as they vent and forget old grudges - there's really no way to counter or mitigate that kind of stuff since it's irrational by nature. Give them cake and they'll complain you're trying to inflict them with diabetes i guess. And thanks for the 66% discount, I would have paid more for this content. You make me feel so guilty for doubting you guys i'll probably buy copies for some friends .
It is a total win. I'd have gladly paid 20£ for it and I paid 10£! Love the new units, they have so much flair and character. I'm insta addicted to PA again after not playing it for months.
Yay, Elodea I hope you have your Theta plushie out on display with pride. I know I gave mine a little cuddle last night.
The new drone carriers are so cool. Serious props to whoever implemented that. I just surrounded an enemies island with them and watched the flood of drones wreck face. So fun.
This update is awesome, adds a lot of dynamic flow into multiplanet game and 1vs1. So many more tactics. I mean CMON, amphibious tanks. It adds so much to the game.
I just was able to complete the tutorial and in my opinion it was done brilliant. So in one tutorial new players learn how the galactic wars works, know titans and planet smashing and all!
Sorry mate, I dont know what causes those crashes. Area commands or big explosion, whatever it is, I can't even reconnect. But hotfix is coming soonish.
Glad to hear you are enjoying it Was a lot of long hours, but we are honestly happy with the additions we were able to bring to PA. It makes the game go beyond any of our original goals, which is something that isn't often possible in game dev
I never imagined this expansion to happen! I always thought PA was slowly dying since the latest updates have gotten less and less hype around them. And when PA was on sale I always thought it was a rescue attempt on gaining more money to support it longer. But things of this scale I really never had imagined!! Awesome!!! Thank you!!
PA was basically dead. This expansion is the breath of life it needs. And to be honest, I doubt Uber would have been able to continue supporting the game without it. Because you know, economics.
