Hello, After playing for 5 minutes the game crashed back to the game lobby, faded out and totally crashed. This was my first playthrough again of a Uber galaxy since my clean install of Windows 10. How can I submit my crash log, if any? EDIT: I'd also like to note that I never had any troubles since I bought the beta on Steam, I have an Intel Core I7 4770, Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 and 16GB RAM. Always worked great on the uber settings on my 8.1 pc, only now with Windows 10 it crashes.
If your playing online then Uber will get a crash log, If not I think the game stores them on your computer somewhere, @DeathByDenim can probably help with that. Another thought, can you play a skirmish against the AI or a multi player game without it crashing (i.e. it's specific to Galactic War) or does the game always crash? Final thing- do you have any mods installed? If yes, then you need to go into the game properties in steam and add the command line tag '--nomods' and try again. If it doesn't crash with the tag then you probably have a mod lurking somewhere causing issues (also note if you upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 10 *without wiping the hdd* and you had mods installed before, chances are the mod folders are still on the system somewhere and PA will try and load them if you don't have '--nomods' switch on).
Yeah, those logs are in "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\log". Just paste that whole thing in the address bar of Explorer. From what you are describing, it sounds like the local server crashed. So a server log might be handy as well. From some reason, those live one directory up from the client logs. You may also want to try turning off the local server and see if it still crashes then. Turning off the local server means that you will use Uber's servers instead. If those crash as well, then you probably found a bug.
I have never used mods as far I can remember, I've been running the Insider Preview of Windows 10 since xmass, and I just upgraded (been on 3 week vacation in France) my PC that was on build 10240 to the full Windows 10 version, after which I did a clean install. There were two files in my folder, one of the day of the crash, and one of the day before: I however cant post anything because my posts are too big then. :s
Can any of you see why I crashed? Or did I just "hit the jackpot" and this was a rare crash? I want to play, but I don't want the feeling ruined by a crash.
Ah, sorry. I got distracted. Yeah, the second log you posted contains some weird info. Code: [15:45:41.485] ERROR [JS/game] coui://ui/main/game/galactic_war/gw_play/gw_play.js:858: Uncaught TypeError: Object #<GameViewModel> has no method 'showSidebar' [15:47:10.125] INFO [JS/game] coui://ui/main/game/galactic_war/shared/js/gw_specs.js:205: Warning: File not found in mod [15:47:10.125] INFO [JS/game] coui://ui/main/game/galactic_war/shared/js/gw_specs.js:205: Warning: File not found in mod That seems to indicate files are missing. So can you try verifying the files in the game cache? Instructions are here: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335
Well, even if you can crash it a few more times and post the logs of those, that would help narrow it down.
I didn't try the standard game, but I bought the Titans version and I crashed in the tutorial. This makes me veel very sad.
