    I'm Canadian, it throws a bit of a monkey wrench into any attempt to define something since we have a horrible mix of British (of all varieties), French and American influences.

    Hell, we can't even figure out whether to consistently use Celsius/Fahrenheit or miles/kilometers. The "official" definitions kind of gets ignored outside academia.

    Who is responsible for keeping the names as they are anyway? Is it still scathis or has he moved on?
