Clans are really just to find a group of friends you enjoy hanging out with and having an excuse to hang out with them, these are groups of friends- not a competive CSGO team. ;P

Yeah by being in a clan I get not to have total noobs on my team, they end up in the opposition instead and that's no fun either :/ Having some organized clan games would be nice whether on an ad-hoc basis or as Exodus tournaments.

Clan Wars is the best tournament that PA ever had. Also, for many players the only reason to come back to PA.
We definitly need something like it again.

I actually second this. I know that Clan Wars placed a lot of stress on the guys at Exodus but I honestly think that it was one of the most entertaining spectator events in PA ever. It was a regular, scheduled event that people came back for and made time for. Much like other sports leagues, spectators and players were emotionally invested in a side and we got to see some absolutely phenomenal examples of tactics that are extremely difficult to pull off in 1v1 games. The games themselves were gripping to watch and the overall flow of the series was a great hook that kept people coming back.

If Exodus will let me, I'd like to see what I can do to help get some sort of second season going. I'd even go as far as to say that Uber might benefit from helping to promote it a little bit.

+1 it was a great event. If it is possible to do a second season I'd support it as best I can.

I know there was lots of drama, although the specific causes of said drama aren't involved with PA directly any more so hopefully a second season would go smoother.

Any second clan wars season would require a good notice period with some build up, as I think it would prompt more players to get involved with clans again.

There are also a few things I think would benefit a potential second season and these are:
    - Create a pre defined set of maps that the clans play on, rather than relying on the clans themselves. This way maps can be play tested and approved to ensure crazy long lag fest stale mate games don't occur (all orbital maps should include either an annihilator or asteroids for example to keep games to a reasonable length). The map choice (out of the total pool) should be given to the weakest team points wise to possibly shake things up a little.

    - Potentially reduce the player count to 3 v 3 to make it easier for clans to participate (or potentially allow matches to feature different numbers of players ranging from 3 v 3 to 5 v 5, with the clan with the lowest number of players determining how larger a side is fielded?).

    - With the curated maps (and as such shorter running games) maybe have fixtures of 3 clans each week (so total 6 games) to reduce the total number of clan wars days and give a good length of viewing.

Lag will still be an issue for larger games 4v4 and 5v5 (Yes, there are things we can do to reduce it, but its still going to be the main issue with large team games). 3v3 seems to be the maximum size.

I guess we can change this thread to Clan Wars Season Deuce possible format thread since that seems to be the direction this thread is going in. What kind of format is possible?

I think the homesystem idea from cw1 was awesome. I would prefer selfmade homesystem, but then with a limit like not more then x planets, none of wich may be bigger then x radius. Something like that. Also someone should check the orbital travel distances.

Yes please on the clan wars! And I think I have a plan of action for these ones

I reckon a mixed, weekly group of games, with all clan members welcome to be on the rosta. Just host it like a cumulative soft-league; the aim is less about crucial scoring matches and "winning" the league as much as racking up victories through more games played

Limitation for clan members would be that they are able to commit to games they want to play/days they say they want to play. Have an open calender that all clan members can add their names on to

    weekly (and multiple) 2 vs 2 and 3 vs 3, monthly 4 vs 4 and 5 vs 5?

The clans that actually have a game on any particular day are based on who can turn out at least 2 players on that day. New clans can join as they wish, and we have "review" nights, like a "Match of the Day" style run down of favourite replays from the day hosted by a couple of our more experienced members

Wow... you said alot. What you're saying sounds like a team/clan ranking system which could be cool on its own but the amount of time and effort required is probably too much. Any new clan war should be simpler.

There were a number of problems with the previous clan war; time scale, timing, inflexibility within the rostas, clans that closed and (my personal problem) not much back-and-forth discussion regarding the team games. I've aimed to address all of them with the above proposal, and given the absurdly productive modding and e-sports communities that we have, I didn't think any of the above was beyond the collective talents

I of course want to discuss this, as this is a discussion thread

I like your ideas although it sounds a little complex.

I think maybe run a shorter version of the last clan wars with open rosters (rule being no clan jumping but new players can join a side and join in, I think that would help drive interest in the competitive scene)....

    What clans would participate?
    Team Burning
    The Realm
    Voices of War
    Promethean
    Northern Walk

Are there any other clans out there I don't know about (besides PAG, Dongers, and MBC who could join but I am not sure about membership or seriousness).

Any competitive clan war deux will probably be Uber and Plat players. Could there be a clan tournament for gold/silver/bronze players? Would this help to bring more players to competitive play?

Yeah I'm all for things that are inclusive, although I think for an actual clan wars type event to happen we need to keep it as simple as possible. I mean if we can get a 2nd event off the ground, that would generate interest and that is when an entry league could be formed.

It's kinda a chicken and egg thing, no point making an event for no players, but we won't get new players without an event lol.

Oh I didn't mean an entry league. More like oneoff tournament possibility for less experienced players.
