At mid-Game games slows down -- NO FUN

Hello,

I must admit that PA is now a bit better than 3 Month ago and I decided to play more often.
But why is the game so slow?

Starting an around minute 30 it is WAY TOO SLOW. I can even see a laser firing while taking a sip.

I am connected to the server playing PA Galatic War (which has improved a bit with the ability to save games) and every time a play against the faction leaders I am having so long to wait and so I conclude I do not want to play anymore. In SupCom you had to wait long too even with Sorian AI so I think he did not make it better (has learned nothing).

Unless somebody tells me how to speed up things it is just another 40x40 map you can play for 30 min max.

For all who say play ladder .... no I do not want to play ladder, this game has an AI too which sucks in computation speed and that is my point.

Are you running local server or playing online?
If local, what CPU do you have?

Its more to do with the simulation then the AI processes like in SupCom, many unit pathing and shooting causes the process to slow down.

Also, the Sorian AI in SupCom as a mod, rather then the official AI.

I have the version from beta, start PA Launcher as Administrator, sign in, Verfiy all Files then and play and start Galatic War.

My local system is pretty old. 455 Intel Core 2 Quad 2,4 GH 8 GB RAM sATA 2 SSD

You may get a speed-up if you turn the local server off. That way, all the simulation stuff will run on Uber's servers instead of on your local computer. Go to settings -> server to change the local server setting and see if that helps. The downside is that every game will take place on-line if the local server is turned off, so you'll need to be connected at all times.

That's your problem, 30 minutes is way late game, not mid-game

Unfortunately this can be true .. which reminds me of SC II ... which is not a good thing for PA

30 is my early game.

But I am kind of a steamroller.

So it would be.

It's one thing I love about PA. If I want a long, epic, static game I'll play Civ. If I want fast paced dynamic action, I play PA.

Im still waiting on the Planetary City mod.

Sim city PA style...... I'll work on it.

and also it became popular BECAUSE it didn't lag, so the OP is completely bullshitting us.

Only 8GB of ram seems really low to me to be using a local server. Are other people using local servers in only 8GB of ram? You may be swapping/paging like crazy.
