I just take whatever comes out of that woman's mouth as BS. There's nothing to say to people blinded by ignorance, naiveté, and their own ideals nor is there any reason to take into consideration what they have to say.

Anita isn't a lawyer that tried to take video games to court.

Yay, Doom! Seriously though, the video footage I saw from E3 looked great, it seems that htey've actually built a /game/ around the engine this time and not just a very generic FPS experience. The finishing melee moves seem really cool and fun, the different game modes, the map editor looks absolutely amazing... And of course id tech 6(66), as expected, looks to be very fast, slick, and pretty.

The problem we have here is that people in this thread think she shouldn't have opinions . . . by posting their opinion about the subject. We're all in the business of clicks.

Sarkeesian is non-profit, ad revenue jokes by Geers aside. She was harassed out of her home by people working with a very similar set of opinions to tehtrekd. She's a woman with an opinion. She isn't the murderer of video games.

Nobody said she shouldn't have opinions. They made the assertion that she's an attention addict that shifted focus after her feminist fight dropped from the media spotlight.

And it annoys me when people act like opinions are some sort of holy ground. Opinions can be bad, even when they're harmless.

Opinions can be bad, but you're going to have to do a lot of convincing to convince me hers are bad. It is your opinion, perhaps, that her opinion is bad.

I agree that this thread borderlines on the abusive, but this is the first you've mentioned stopping because of that.

Dismissing what people are saying because her opinions are opinions is completely different from telling people to stop making personal attacks. Whats more, you went a step in their direction by trying to belittle them as they are belittling her by calling them names.

I don't have a problem with her having an opinion. I just don't think this really is her opinion. It really seems like she doesn't want to leave the spotlight. I really struggle to believe that someone can say those things in 2015 and actually legitimately believe it.

Gamers have been shunned and shafted for a long time so it's really not hard to understand hostile and defensive attitudes to stuff like this.

She says these things, on her own Twitter account. There is nothing wrong with this.

If she criticised films, she'd probably say similar things about Saw. But she criticises video games. That is her chosen field of criticism, for the time being at least. There is nothing wrong with that, either.

The people that won't let it leave the spotlight are the people that make drama out of her, accuse her of being a lying conwoman and spread defamatory posters all around E3 about her. It doesn't matter if you think it isn't her real opinion. She is posting it as her opinion. You do not have the right to undermine that.
