It's rough loving PA and only having 6 potato bytes of ram shared with your integrated graphics potato.

Laptops aren't too friendly toward squeezing extra ram in. :p I've tried http://downloadmoreram.com/ but for some reason my system could'nt detect the extra ram.
I'm on all the lowest settings and had these problems with the vanilla game as well. Someday I'll get a desktop computer, but until then PA is a tough love.

All these weirdos who own laptops that can run PA. My only laptop runs on an intel atom and lags when playing back 720p videos. ;)

But if you have 6 GB, that means you have probaby a 2 GB and 4 GB stick in there. So can't you get rid of the 2 GB and replace it with an 8 GB stick? That'll get you 12 GB in total, right?

You are supposed to be able to play with 6 GB on Pax though, as the minimum system requirements for PA are 4 GB RAM + 512 MB VRAM. So you're 1.5 GB above that. You might just want to try setting your virtual memory to 14 GB or higher to get that extra 1 GB still there after closing PA. :)

I'm lucky my laptop came with 4 memory slots, so rocking 24 GB now, har!
Not just for PA, but also science! It helps with PA though. :)

probably the better choice over kali, given the specs we're working with. @violetania , take note.

I play all my games on a telegram machine - not only are the graphics old-school, but the visuals lag a little as well :/

@tatsujb, the only purpose the laptop serves is for dead drop usbs and experimenting with friends so performance isn't that big of a deal =P It's not like i do anything important on it! tehe ^^

If he's really lucky, it's a 6GB stick and he can bump it up even more! (I'll never understand why laptops don't come with matched RAM, or just opting to populate one slot.)

If he's extremely lucky, he actually has a single 6 GB stick, since as far as I know those do not exist. :)
They always go as 2^n, don't they?

My issue is that it's the only system people use.

Aka. it's overused, but probably because there aren't any other new-ish multiplanet systems.
