a super addicting javascript web game that i'm secretly trying to hack in order to become the largest blob http://agar.io/
why is everyone playing this? i don't get viral flash/phone games they spring up and all the sudden EVERYONE'S playing it, then the next day everyone's moved on.
Not too keen on Overwatch. It feels like I should, given it's VERY obvious Monday Night Combat and Team Fortress 2 influences (both games I love) but it just seems to lack a sort of hook for me. It feels too "safe", for a lack of a better word, with it's characters; and the cinematic trailer was just a bit cringey and too "heartwarming but wow action! Pixar!"
@kvalheim I get what you mean, I felt the same thing. But I understand all they're really trying to do is appeal to the broader public. Personally it's still not my genre of game. Don't think i'll play it. but I still thought it looked neat and the cinematic trailer has me wowing!
Yeah, I'm looking forward to Overwatch mostly because I'll be able to play it with some of my friends, who somehow very rarely play the same games as I do, and because of said mnc influences, which I just always wanted to see in a game that promises to have a huge playerbase. That said I totally agree on the 'save' (maybe even generic or sterile?) part, especially after watching this trailer featuring amazingly memorable lines such as "locked and loaded!", "time to reap!" or "see through the dragon's eyes" while in (s)mnc we had "bullseye look, I carved your name into my thigh!" and (when taking damage) "don't worry, I got two of those!" just to name two of - well I didn't count, so I might be quite far off - hundreds? Without even mentioning the announcers.
Found a nifty little browser game called Town of Salem. At it's core it is a murder mystery game but it's a bit more complex than that. Anyways, definitely worth a look. http://blankmediagames.com/ Just a heads up: You'll have to create an account to play
Somebody showed me Elements. It's a really solid digital card game. Anybody who enjoys constructed over draft in their games will probably love it.
Oh, whoops, yeah that makes sense. Especially since some characters were simply talking about 'the objective'. That makes things a little better I guess.
Cogmind's alpha is now properly released and it's also got a trailer. And the trailer includes actual gameplay.
So, you guys being my internet quality control, what are your opinions on Subnautica now that it's further progressed through development? I've done my best to do nothing more than check in to read up on a new update so I don't spoil everything for myself, and the game sure does look pretty. Worth getting yet? Or maybe better: worth trying yet?
