Cogmind, the game I mentioned in the post The old (free) 7drl is available here. The video shows the commercial version which will be up here when it's time for early access(which should be this month). They say it'll be $30 for early access, with it being cheaper on release. All early access people up to a point will have their names in an items description randomly assigned. I'm on the fence myself, leaning towards waiting
Ah, completely missed that, just glanced over it thinking you were referring to a person Anyways, thanks for the response!
So far Dirty Bomb has been a lot of fun, I suggest you guys give it a shot if you're at all fond of FPS's
Maybe, haven't played enough to know if that's the case. So far i've only found the core gameplay to be enjoyable.
It's pretty grindy at the moment but that's probably going to change, the devs have been talking about adding more ways to earn credits and stuff like that. But it's not like you HAVE to grind to win games.
All my coursework is done now, so I went back to revisiting the Dota 2 tools. Decided to warm up on them by doing what I did when I wanted to warm up on the old Hammer: remake a map from another game (I made a version of Damnation from Halo:CE in CS:GO). Here I've been remaking the Arathi Basin battleground from WoW and I'm happy with how it's coming out. Planning to add some assets later down the line to better represent the different capture points, and also try and work out how to even do a capture points gametype within Dota 2. Oh, and if anyone knows of any good Source Modding communities, that'd be swell. I know there's a Dota 2 modding subreddit but it looked very "meh".
Got around to playing the Cogmind 7DRL a bit more, I think I like it. If the alpha release is as improved as it sounds, then it'll probably be well worth it.
Yeah the grind is real but there's so much constant whining about it that I bet it's going to be less of a grind soon. Not that I personally mind it that much because I like playing the game regardless of whether I own everything or not. And yeah the maps are pretty defender sided most of the time and that is another thing that has been brought up quite a lot.
Touhou 14: Double Dealing Character is getting a western release on May 7th! I haven't gotten to play this one, but its price will be similar to imports(without the shipping) at $15. It doesn't look like, at this time, the older games will be made available. Here's to hoping this sells well enough that they are. It'd be nice to be able to have them in downloadable formats.
I been trying to complete FTL and get to a point where I want to start playing the fan-made expansion "Captain's Edition". I also do some collaboration with RenX. The newest update made the game uncooked, so now mutators and mapmaking is possible. It is a small community still so there are only so many people to work on mods, but the main 2 server operators are easily able to patch any balance tweaks they need with their internal circle of people, and they collaborate a lot directly with the devs. I am excited to see how many neat things can be made over the next month or two. I still play SMNC of course... lol.
Somebody showed me Duelyst, an online CCG in alpha. It's tightly designed and looking good, although it's not exactly my sort of game. I'll stick with it till I grok it sufficiently then probably move on. Keys are given out almost daily to people who ask on their forum thread. If anybody gets in and wants a match againt somebody who hasn't ground out the full card set my in-game name is Arseface and I'll accept challenges. EDIT: Added links
