2v2 Ladder that would be very cool beacuse i cant see ANYONE plays custom game now everyone play only 1v1 ladder
It's tricky ground, don't want to try to divide up playerbase too much when you have something that already works. But I too agree, a 2v2 ladder would be fun.
It is too specific. Only a handful of people would play on this ladder. And how do you rate changing teams? So you have to do a personal rating for everyone, because people will change teams. Then you can go one step further and give everyone a rating for every team game (not just 2v2, but also 3v3, 4v4, etc...). You could show this rating in the lobby and people would know how good the team is they are facing. You could even have a ranking like PaStats and show a list with the best team player in the game! Also: A lot of people play custom, nobody plays 1v1.
There's plenty of people, just there's a lot of frustration for hosting because you cant see the lobby screen, you can't tell how many people are online looking for games, and people are fickle; they'll join, wait 5 seconds then leave again
Maybe 2 v 2 (or team game in general) ladder could be automatic based off custom games. Rules for it to count on ladder: standard eco modifier no server mods shared or unshared Scores would be calculated per player so the ladder would position individuals rather than specific teams. Once that is in place you could then enable auto balance for team lobbies, based on players team rating as they do in ta spring.
Was thinking about this today for the team games I'm going to try set up everyday. TA has a multiplayer ladder that in inputted manually by a mod after the games. Works really well. http://techsupportdesk.net/onlinerankings.html There is a link to the calculations at the bottom. Could be worth a try. Would need to ask boogie if I could use his model. But should be ok.
yea allowing people to see who's online without having them in a friendslist by default would be a good start ... aswell as a statusbar of whos currently playing or watching/casting a game .. i can assure you that worked pretty well in yugioh online
Have you checked out https://palobby.com/ ? It's not in-game, but it's a pretty neat user-created Global Chat
It is in-game if you have the PA Stats mod installed. Though I think davostheblack's point was global chat for everybody in vanilla, since there are a lot of users that do not even know mods exist.
