eXodus eSports is proud to announce Binary Stars, a new 2v2 tournament for Planetary Annihilation. Can you shine brighter than all the rest and claim the $200 prize?

Participation is limited to the first sixteen two person teams to sign-up so you better hurry. Reserve slots are available and should a team fail to show up on the day we will be inserting available reserve teams in the order they signed up. If we run out of spaces all incomplete teams will be moved to reserves.

Round 1, the quarters and semi-finals are Bo3. The final will be Bo5 and the winning team will walk away with $200. There will be a ten minute break between each round.

The maps for each round can be downloaded in the requirements section of the rules. The rules and brackets identify which map will be used for which match in which round. Maps for the final will be chosen by the participating teams from those used in the tournament, with the first team to make it to the final choosing the first map, and the loser of each match choosing the map thereafter.

Sign-ups will be closing 24 hours before the tournament begins.

Make sure that you’ve read through the rules, meet all the tournament requirements and put this into your diary. You don’t want to miss out just because you can’t handle timezones. Given the amount of money at stake we will be enforcing the rules tightly, so ensure you are familiar with them.

There will be a five minute delay on the stream.

    Changing your name:

If you need to change your name at any point you can do so as follows:
    1. Login to your eXodus account
    2. Mouse over your name in the top right and choose Edit My Profile
    3. Select Player Profile from the list on the left
    4. Change your name
    5. Click the update button

And sign-ups are sorted. Sorry about that. You might need to do a forced page refresh if you've visited the sign-up page already.

32 sign ups so far, with 5 of the 16 team slots filled. Only 8 map pack downloads so far though, a real test of who is reading the rules :)

I think I might be available for the 9th... anyone need a team mate?

I'd ask the rest of Proemethean but after the fiasco that was the ClanWars showdown... *sigh*

I love the pun in the name! More importantly though, I wish I was good enough to be competition for this $200. Could surely use it!

Having read (skimmed over) the rules I think you should make the disconnect rule more clear. We had an issue last team tournament about what kind of time limit should be giving to opposing team to reconnect before you need to unpause. 5 minutes I feel is one enough.

For the time being I'd recommend referring any pause periods you're uncomfortable with to the tournament director. We'll review the rule in the meantime. What is really needed is an in-game managed pause allowance.
