Based on the trailer I'm more inclined to believe the game will have a separate map in place for the starcraft. Similar to Battlefield 1943's air only mode where you'd fight over a couple tropical islands solely with aircraft. You couldn't even walk on the islands below. (the only place you can be on foot is either aircraft carrier.)
Honestly, in my opinion that would almost be an improvement, but not quite. Maybe it's because I've always had a huge love for aerial warfare, but I always preferred the actual fighting between spacecraft rather than bombing the capital ships in Battlefront 2. A mode that's dogfights only just sounds like pure fun to me.
Depends on the map. Honestly I think worst case scenario is "it's decent". Which, given the fact that there has been a giant Star Wars game drought, I'd still be happy. Not as happy. But happy. I GOTTA SHOOT ME SOME REBEL SCUM!
You can't place all the blame on them. EA is a shitty publisher, sure, but DICE is in charge of the actual development. If anyone's going to screw it up, it's them, not EA.
They'll force the game to be sold exclusively on Origin for PC, they'll probably put in an online pass system and there might even be day-one DLC. That would all be on EA, but the gameplay, story and everything actually IN the game is on DICE. The worst possible thing EA can do to Battlefront is push for it to have more "modern FPS-y" traits like iron sights and the like (which will probably happen whether or not EA "suggests" it), or refuse DICE a delay.
To be fair original Battlefront 2 had less than 40 players on planet. 32 on consoles- Same on PC for the most part except for planets like Hoth where the cap was 64.
This sucks but let's face it, it's not a big deal. The damn things were so slow that they might as well have been railed. Plus I've heard it only applies to one game mode.
Yes but I'm only saying 40 player mad doesnt ruin the original battlefront feel- considering battlefront had a smaller player cap on the majority of maps. The rest though is pretty legit.
Which was basically how they were in BFII anyway. Sure you weren't technically restrained but you had no other place to go and it took forever to make a turn. The game mode I heard about is called Walker Assault. Basically what happens is there are some AT-AT that the imperials have to protect as they push forward while the Rebels try to stop them. There's a couple of rush-like control points where the Rebels can call in Y-wing airstrikes if they can hold their position.
Nobody but noobs and trolls will use them if they're on rails. They were awful slow, but at least I could walk them into your base (bf1) and let everybody spawn and take it! I don't know how they played in 2, my hoth was broken and walmart doesn't give refunds.
Hoth in BFII was like a big path to Echo base with a few bunkers to the sides. Eventually the AT-ATs would just end up outside one of these things wrecking **** until it got taken out.
