    @sorian
    If i select a group of units and issue an attack command, does the group of units share the same neural network code or does each unit think as an individual?..

    Afaik units you command do not interact with any neural nets at all.
    They just move in and attack at your commad.

    I'm assuming a group of units shares the output variables from the neural network, so if the leading unit gets attacked and decides its too dangerous the rest of the group shares the same neural network output and reacts the same way , even if they are still meters or miles away from the lead unit.

    If it is like that would there be a way to command a group of units but still have them act as individuals with their own neural network outputs so they all act differently based on where they are and whats happening to them individually.

    What about when using area attack, i thought some kind of neural net interaction was happening there..

    Units dont decided anything at all for you. If you tell them to attack or move they will do so, even if you tell a single dox to fight a thousand t2 tanks.

    I think all area attack does is order some special pattern of attack moves.

    If there is no neural net interaction at all, i wonder if it would be possible to make our units semi-sentient when given attack commands.
    I like the idea that my grouped units may attempt to go around a hazard instead of directly through its firing line to get to its intended target, it sounds lazy but in massive battles i really don't want to be micro managing every step of each unit to make sure they dodge incoming fire from static targets, it'd be a nice idea if a lead unit was destroyed the others would go "hey this way is a no no, lets try a different path to the intended target"

    LOL, I may have mistaken some crazy pathing for neural network activity.
    I issued an attack command and some units decide it was a good idea to go a slightly different path from the rest.
    No idea why, maybe CSG was fooling some units into thinking they cant go the same way as the rest of the group.

    i'll screenshot if it happens again.
