4/13/15 80404-pte Bugfix/Polish: - Fix for crash loading a saved game - Added a text warning to indicate filenames restrictions - Fix for vision after reconnect - Fix for the gas giant size bug in System Designer - Added a sandbox option to enable server cheats without using a mod. (This does not work in ranked games.) - Enable Galactic War Save/Load for PlayFab servers These save files will disappear after ~30 days If you revert the Local Server setting, your save will still work, however you will not see the save file available until you change your Local Server setting again
Any chance of a download option for replays and saved games? Alternatively an API we can use until an Uber user interface is created in PA.
It's something we can look into, but not something we have listed to currently work on. As the replays are not regular video files, I'm not sure what the difficulty level is to implement this.
An extension of the current GC/GetReplayList API with a download URL would be a start. Take a look at https://palobby.com/replays/ (skip the Clan Wars Showdown replay unless you have 50GB+ of physical or virtual RAM).
Sandbox is a lobby option grouped with with alliances. Create-unit, change-control, and change-vision are now running exclusively off of the sandbox flag. Any associated UI runs off of the server mods (or devmode) So cheats are way more accessible to the casual user, except if he is lucky he'll figure out copy-paste and maybe avatars. Meanwhile mods that depend on cheats can work again, but depend on the human to check the box. It looks like sandbox mode enables the save button in multiplayer - whatever that means. There is also a new lobby chat type for setting changes.
Oh, and a mod that needs one cheat has to put in UI hacks for all of them. So Commander Regeneration, which only needs create-unit, will need to block change-control, and non-spectator change-vision. I think update-mod-data is still inaccessible without --allow-cheats.
Any chance of a fix for this bug? It's currently making the game virtually unplayable for many of us on Linux.
And still cant change commanders when doing a new GW when steam is in offline mode... whens THAT gonna get fixed?
We have it on the list. Priority wise, hoping to hit it and some other Linux polish in May if everything goes to plan. Much lower priority on that. It is on the list, but won't be in the next month or two.
One thing to note, if you have a save that was crashing due to this bug, this will not fix that save. This fix only prevents a new save from getting into that situation again. Unfortunately, the cause of the save crash is not something we can fix up after that fact.
