Ive already uninstalled and reinstalled the game and launcher etc multiple times. I keep getting this error after logging in SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK. Details error: 14090086:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed does anyone know what else to do ?

I downloaded the alternative launcher. but I keep getting error messages saying that certain files are not installed ie: the program cant start because libzlib.dll is missing
That's odd. I just checked and that dll is certainly included in the zip. Did you unzip the whole thing, or did you try to start it directly from within the .zip file? The latter probably won't work. You need to right-click the .zip file, choose "Uncompress", and start the launcher from the newly created folder. You can also see if the first solution of redownloading Uber's launcher helps.
Your problem with SSL error is most likely caused by anti-virus software: http://steamcommunity.com/app/233250/discussions/2/558751813508748383/ Try to disable "SSL scanning" options or remove that software. I suppose problem with alternative launcher most likely caused by same anti-virus that not working properly.
Would that cause dlls to not be found that reside in the same directory as the executable? Just curious.
my computer had Norton I uninstalled it. I was using spybot and malewarebytes also uninstalled those. my computer had mcafee too which I also uninstalled. The game still wont load im not sure what to do at this point so frustrated
I have two separate suggestions. Hopefully one of those will work for you: Can you try redownloading the installer from Uber? A while ago there was a problem with it. You may just have the broken version which has since been updated. Regarding the alternative launcher. Does right-clicking the zip and choosing "Extract All" work? It should create a new folder that is the same name as the .zip. Starting the launcher from within that new folder should work.

Seriously, they let it expire? I just bought the damn game and tried to install it on the same day they let the cert expire? WTF are the odds of that?!?!
