Because there is nothing else to describe. There should be a little type box in the map creator that has "Description," so players would see it before the game starts.
That might be a little more difficult to program. If you mean just look at the what the system from a birds eye view and no game play anyway, and the game might start before you load the preview so it might not really be that useful, so you just loaded the map for nothing. And that is also assuming you load the preview in the multi-player lobby. Subtitles/Descriptions shouldn't be more than 150 lines of code if they do it right.
oh... I guess I have that. I was looking for something that shows the text map descriptions put in by the creator. Normally when looking at systems in the system creator/editor you can see these text descriptions but not when choosing a system.
After trying to host a few FFAs over the weekend I have to agree that currently you have no ******* clue what you're getting until it loads. You get a guide, like 2-8 players, yeah.. cheers, useful. If a planet is 6 players for instance I don't know if that means there are 6 valid starting spots or if mass is spread out making an 8 player game playable. A simple picture preview would go a long way.
