I'm not sure how vehicles would feel in an arena game. I do know I LOVE halo though, so idk..

Just with all the movement of an arena game vehicles feel odd, how is it?

i think that's why they went with vehicles in toxikk. they do seem to be trying to recreate that halo look and feel with a bit more Reflex-like fuel. (had great times with the first halo as well)

but i understand why vehicles would seem weird in Reflex, you're already moving so fast and trying to aim in a slow turning machine versus zippy zippy footmen on jumping stilts with portals would be inefficient.

The vehicles blend in with the whole "movement" rather well. I guess one way to put it is that the way the vehicles are driven feels just as natural as if you were walking.
I'm currently showing this game to a friend with steam streaming, so you can come check it out for little bit if you'd like to: http://steamcommunity.com/broadcast/watch/76561198055439618

The 4WD is horrible. It doesn't turn very well at all. The hovertronbike is great except for its oversensitivity to solid objects, the hoverbattlepodthing is just like a larger hoverbike and the gunship works just fine. Surprisingly fast though.

Just played some of the new Toxikk update.
Crappy pistol no longer has infinite ammo, making it even worse.
New default melee weapon: A drill. It's pretty much the weedwhacker thing from Painkiller but less awesome.
New map: Jungle temple place. Fun map but I find it a bit confusing to navigate. Still don't know where everything is.

From what I saw of Toxikk it looks sort of halfway between Halo and Unreal Tournament in terms of pacing and gameplay.
Which is good mind, we don't have enough of the slightly slower than Quake / much faster than ModMilShoot games like that.

Aesthetic is nothing to shout home about though

Just looks kinda bland. Though it's personal opinion, lately I've been more into heavily stylised stuff

I'm not sure about faster, I've watched people play that newer cod and it seems veeery fast paced.

It's a lot faster than previous CoDs I'll tell you that. However small map vs small map Toxikk has a faster pace.

Sigh...even I wish I would shut up about quake this point, but...I don't like how you can't seem to maintain your movement speed in toxikk (at least that's what it looked like, I couldn't try it on my current toaster :(). After playing a game where you can do this (at least theoretically ) the ut-esque system is bound to feel rather clumsy imho.

I'm really excited for Cities Skylines. It looks like a really great modern city-sim:

I'd call it a Simcity killer but Simcity did a pretty good job of committing suicide all by itself so... moot point.

Should release in 5 hours, assuming that Steam still updates the store at 10am daily. Really hoping it's not a miserable pile of crap in disguise.

The coolest games at PAX East were probably Enter the Gungeon(roguelike shoot em up), Divorce(regret simulator), and Castle Assault(MTG Tower Defense, now on Kickstarter) ... and Behemoths(shameless plug).

Honorable mentions going to Fistful of Gun(Shoot em up), Mahou Shoujo(Magical Girl: The Gathering), and Mech Deck(Battletech Light, but you get to pull the parts of the minis as they blow up).
