girls? (typed "guys" then had a derp moment) ...like I said anything that can be purchased that is non cosmetic (it doesn't matter what hockey-pockey, or houbla you do afterwards, yes, trade market included) it is p2w. It's not because it's p2w a LITTLE tiny bit, that that makes it not p2w at all.
But the weapons you get don't really make the game any easier, all it does is change your play style. For example their is watch for the spy (can't remember it's name atm) that has infinite cloak... But only when standing still, and you can use cloak when walking/running around. And probably a couple other little differences.
that's a feeling. that's feeling as well. none of that is facts. and facts are what make the difference at x1 000 000 so all that matters is wheter you CAN buy non-cosmetics or not. Not whether you personally feel like it or not. had a typo thrown in that I've fixed. P1 : grind advance into the game + bought advance into the game ≠ P2 : grind advance into the game good enough? that's a opinion and non statistical. you don't know what the results of that are per thousands of players are. but I bet the boss of the company can tell you. he better know if he wants to sell well.
Honestly now I feel like asking all my friends if they think buying weapons helps in tf2 at all. For the record I have every weapon in tf2, and never bought a single one.
look. I'm having great deal of trouble explaining this to you. but anecdotes will always loose to statistics. it doesn't matter what you or your friends personally feel or think about this. a person claiming paying for non cosmetics in game confers an advantage will remain factually correct no matter what it feels like to you or another, and no matter how much a non-premium wins versus a premium (you're allowing yourself to use factual evidence but not allowing yourself a great sum in the quantity of gathered evidence, if possible you should take a look at statistics on the whole of players and see what comes to light then but in the meantime our derivative obtained from the facts at hand is what we can hold to be true.)
But asking a bunch of people what they think would be statistics? I'll ask a whole tf2 group of I have to.
a bunch? no. 500+ at least. friends? most definitely not. what they think? even less so. let the win/loose ratio speak.
I have over 200 friends on Steam.. I only talk to about 10- but I'd feel to bad to remove the others tbh. XD
well that's 100% of the statistic criteria failed then drats! no really I constantly get flack about bias in my polls and we're on a freakin forum! you want me to take a piece of evidence seriously on the matter of p2w ? something that's a far-reaching matter with real money involved and millions some 50 million people? better have some LEGIT stats.
and what ask them? still corrupted data. only computers have perfect memory and no personal interests.
Just send them a link to a poll. Anyway now you're saying even data gathered from a couple hundred people means nothing, honestly I'm not sure it's worth even discussing anymore when youre willing to ignore such things. -.-
no I'm clearly cutting out what can constitute data, statistics or factual evidence. what people say really isn't. I'm fine with picking up what the servers have to say about win-loss ratio of paying vs non-paying customer. that is bona-fide data.
That data would be pretty skewed since most people don't buy weapons in TF2. ^^; Plus it'd be super hard for me to get that info. XD
Well actually I think we're still technically not supposed to go off topic in an actual thread... (Unless maybe not? =o )
How is LOL pay to win, when you don't need every champion? Hell, the most common method of advancing in Ranked is by playing one character almost exclusively. besides, a friend of mine has been playing for a long time and owns every champion and can pay for a new champion instantly. So basically, you're saying that someone who plays the game longer has an advantage, which is always the case. Also, wasn't pay-to-win used to mean "you can't win unless you pay"? Lastly, Capt'n teemo on dooty!. however: Teemo OP? since when? people hate him because he has extremely annoying skills, not because he's OP. The days of walking single-file through the jungle to avoid shrooms are long over. Because i do remember one shroom taking 1/3rd (or in the case of a squishy, 1/2) of my hp bar.
you've just walked straight into the bit that I actually CAN prove. you will, statistically, win more with a day one champion then with an after release day nerf patch champion. YES. ALL CHAMPIONS on lol, come out with significantly higher stats and ARE ALWAYS preceded by a nerf patch. everybody by now knows the way things roll and accept it for what it is : An easy way to ascertain that AT LEAST SOME RP is used on buying champions.
